Batman shooting

#1 Post by Patrick Bateman »

I do find it strange how people are shocked when a film hailed for its dark realism becomes dark in 'real' life.

There's just far too many of these incidents happening, its just horrible. Deepest sympathies to the families of those who died or were injured. :(

The movie has nothing to do with some nutcase that decided to go on a shooting rampage! Does the movie go and say go and shoot people? No it does not. There are millions of extremely violent movies being made each day and you don't see this happen. This is a PG-13 rating in the US and is just as violent as the last Dark Knight movie. I don't like the fact that this violence is marring Batman and this movie.

there another thing on the same news page talking about a scientist who did a study here and put fake little creatures on the road such as turtles and frogs and snakes and it seems a nice amount of my fellow americans go out of their way to purposely run them over. I dont know whats goin on with these shootings and the need to kill things but if someday any of you realizes I havent posted in like a month....
....the crazies got me.

btw galata, I dont think it was Iran...but I generally always do think we should bomb them anyways just to be on the safe side.

Yes ,...very funny....but I made the mistake at a family gathering of saying I like some of Obamas policys. and quite frankly in my family tree that is grounds to take me out back behind the shed pull back the hammer and take me out like ole yeller.

uh oh......this could be bad news regarding the listening habits of the killer

"James Holmes' downstairs neighbor called a non-emergency police number to report loud music
]Kaitlyn Fonzi told The Huffington Post she and her boyfriend were trying to sleep when they heard techno music coming from Holmes' apartment
"

Scooter.

See there's Christopher Nolan saying, "The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me."

That's a load of crap; why is the movie theatre inviolate from the savagery that he aestheticises in his movie?

Hmm, well that strikes me as complete hypocrisy. The Batman films glorify psychopathy; it's only natural that psychopathy would wish to repay the tribute. Holmes is essentially Nolan's most authentic critic.

I feel like theres a movie somewhere in what you said......or a new psychopathic super villian for the next spiderman movie...
steve buscemi is....."THE CRITIC"

but I get what your saying, but in the end...it is ....just a movie. we dont always have to be so hard on ourselves because of a small minority that are mentally sick and who take (insert whatever medium) differently than it was meant to be taken. apparently songs make you kill .....movies...video games......its not the moviemakers fault. anyways theres nothing anyone can say except RIP for those that have lost thier lives for a bit of fun.

How selfish can this muderer be?
Not only has he killed those innocent people but to do it on a movies opening weekend will surely have killed its box office potential also.

I'm not surprised about the Batman connection really. Not the violence itself, but the pshychological profile of Heath Ledgers charecter in Dark Knight was so extremely authentic, the evil in him so realistic you could almost touch it. Someone who's losing all hope and empathy for mankind watching that it must be like pouring gasolin on fire...validating those emotions and putting ideas in mind.
