Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
Has anybody ever done this test? I was rather shocked how it nailed my personality.

Re: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
I seem to get a different result every time I do these tests, but then again, I'm bipolar!

Re: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
Outside my long held belief that there are no "personality types" or "disorders" (that's not to say that the "self" can't set up a "false-self" system that eventually leads into psychosis) just skimming the questions in this, my frustration factor is too high to even take it. The first question is worded very poorly, so that some people would check "no" when they mean "yes". As far as things like trusting reason over emotions, I can't give you a black and white yes or no on that. But as for #65 You are always looking for opportunities - yes, I'm always looking for the CD with the song to put on my stereo.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'

That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"

Re: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
Well it's a fascinating idea, but maybe fascinating in the same way as astrology. Given that most of my scores came back as 'slight' or 'moderate' I was assuming it wouldn't tell me much, but the career choice page was surprisingly accurate.
More importantly, I learnt that I share my personality with William Shakespeare, JFK, and Mary off of The Bible.

Re: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
There are 16 different "types" in the Myers-Briggs test so, assuming an equal distribution of the "types", there are getting on for half a billion people in the world who are just like me. This seems like a pretty blunt instrument before you even get to the problems with arbitrarily splitting a normal distribution into two populations somewhere near the peak.
I'm not sure how it could be useful other than perhaps as a starting-off point for a conversation about one's personality. It certainly shouldn't be used as the sole basis for making any life decisions.

We are star stuff which has taken its destiny into its own hands. The loom of time and space works the most astonishing transformations of matter. We are a way for the universe to know itself.

I took the Saville-King-Glitter Type Indicator. I was also shocked by how much it nailed my personality.

Re: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
I pushed through a took it. Though a good fourth of questions there was no good yes/no answer to, and another fourth were still a bit nebulous. Can I be SOPS (Skeptical Of Personality Surveys)
Anyway, I came up with INFJ
Looking into it more, the I is very strong, the J is strong, and the middle two could go either way. I figure we are mostly all "I's" in PSB land. Including Neil and Chris. Chris is IPDK - Introverted Pervy-Synth Duo Keyboardist - it's a very special type of introversion.

There are no 'false selfs' merely contextual selfs.....persona, masks, performance, dramaturgy.
