I'm going to days one, two and three at Lords, it will be a dream come true to see the Ashes in person at the home of cricket!
Let's hope it is as good as the first test match!

They both are. Couldn't stand his dad either.
Stuart Broad is so over-rated. He cheated, no two ways about it but the Aussies didn't have a leg to stand on in terms of complaints and to be fair, they never. The last tour there was at least two blatant attempts at cheating by claiming catches they knew didn't carry and Michael Clarke refused to walk in another test series after he did exactly what Broad did.
They need to be punished for it. Broad should miss a Test. Thing is, most players wouldn't walk.
Not sure the Aussies can blame DRS though. They already benefitted from two big decisions in this Test and Haddin clearly nicked the ball for the last wicket.
It was a great Test but I think it highlighted that both teams aren't as good as they were. England's bowling attack is better because of Jimmy Anderson and Graeme Swann. Those two will win England the Ashes.

It's up to the umpires to give him out. Plain and simple. He didn't cheat, the umpire made a mistake. And how is this different from bowlers claiming an LBW when they know very well the ball is not going to hit the stumps? Happens all the time doesn't it? Are they not cheats too? Don't see too many bowlers calling them back in to bat now do we?

Completely different. Broad knew 100% he was out. IMO its cheating. The Umpires will make errors. Appealing for an LBW involves a lot of guess work for starters. A bowler has a different angle from an Umpire. The bowler is unbalanced and gets a split second to look at something. Broad knew 100% he was out. Just as long as no Ingerland fans slag off the Pakistanis for being cheats in the future. It just left a bad taste in the mouth; yes, cricket is not (and never has been) an exemplar of moral integrity but it still has an ethos which makes it special. Broad standing there after he'd presented the most blatant catch to slip was laughable. I can understand players saying they get bad decisions so why should they walk but when it's that obvious it just looks pathetic and is blatant cheating.

Well England players very rarely do things like what Broad did tbf. Pakistan are constantly at it and take it to a whole new level with match fixing etc.

Great day's cricket today, had Grand stand tickets and the view was just out of this world. Stayed in my seat for a little while at the close of play to avoid the crowds and found myself 5 bottles of nice wine left over from the £150 pick nick packs that people had brought! Nice! Amazing what people leave!
Walking back to the station I bumped into Nigel Farage, leader of UKIP and being a UKIP voter myself (and proud) it was great to have a nice chat with him, we both agreed on the scandalous "racist" accusations used to stop debate on immigration and such these days and I asked him how he felt about the fact that people like Anjem Choudary get air time on TV while UKIP is largely ignored. A disgrace was his reply. But we probably shouldn't go into that, especially not in the Ashes thread, wouldn't want to offend anybody again now, would I?
Can't wait for tomorrows play, I'll be in the cheap seat's, that is £80, good job I'm not paying!

Yes, this Australian team is really quite poor, still good to put one up on the Aussies for once, don't forget that for years we were on the end of this so nice to have roles reversed for once!

What I am pleased with, is the healthy state of Test Cricket.
I think years of OD and perhaps 2020 upskilled most teams to a high degree.
I can remember when OD started, 200 runs was considered a very good overall batting score.
Now that is seen as nothing. And the skills flowed back to test cricket and ...
test matches are played at higher rate and more teams put on an even match.
Look at all the close test matches we have had in recent years.
And few play for a draw now.
Very healthy state.
