Looking for a flat in london

#1 Post by jules »

I have a brother who is searching for an accomodation in London, (he leaves canada). Do you have any advice, or know a good site to find something correct (they are two persons). See how expensive london is, flat sharing is possible too.

This site is a useful overview of the different areas in London with average prices. I have found that as average prices in some areas what's on the website is more expensive than what you would actually pay.

Flat shares are a lot cheaper e.g. £350 to £600 a month for a double room depending on the area and kind of accommodation e.g. a room with an ensuite bathroom will be at the top end wheras a small double in a less nice house will be cheaper.

www.zoopla.co.uk & www.rightmove.co.uk are the main websites in the UK to search for property.

I have noticed in London some cheaper flats, near Highgate there was one for about £270 and also in Bloomsbury about £280 - definitely cheaper than they were.

If they need something temp then look at airbnb, (only pick ones with reviews) its a good site, lots of people use it when inbetween finding something.

Hope this helps
