MOH Allied Assault - tips?

Can anyone help me with the beach level on MOHAA? I'm getting shot to pieces before I've even got out of the water!

Aware of the cheat, but I'd rather not have to use it.

I always had to wade and zig zag from one welded metal bar thing sticking out of the water to the other taking advantage of the cover.
otherwise just trying to get on the beach via wading to the shore is almost impossible.

That's probably the best tip, I did so too, playing the game more than a year ago.

Shoot back faster? Change the difficulty settings? Accept you can't beat the game?

Is Allied Assault the 1 that starts on Normandy Beach? If it is, you have to get behind the metal guard then listen out or find the guy in charge then leg it to him and duck behind the metal cover. He will tell you what to do.

Think you're thinking of MOH on the PS2 from the sounds of it Dave. Finished that one ages ago. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm afraid no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get very far on this level, so (hangs head in shame) I cheated. God mode on, level finished.

It's a bad level actually. I'm on easy setting and the game trots along nicely and you're just about getting along, then comes this nigh on IMPOSSIBLE beach landing level and after you've cheated past that level it becomes playable again.

after playing operationflashpoint I find scripted games or games where you are on a set path unacceptable now.

in operation flashpoint you have whole huge islands to deal with. no barriers to stop you from going where you want to go,no load times. the enemy is really realistic, they will call for backup if attacked. I always loved the feeling from sniping at some russian armor columns, driving away someplace far on the map.and they search for you.
downside,its very very realistic. the enemy is just as skilled as you and it can be frusterating getting killed all the time unless you are always hyper aware of whats goin on on the battlefield.

Don't play that many games lately the only one i keep playing is Winning Eleven 7 International witch is miles better than PES3.
