Re: Erasure: Tomorrow's World
I really miss the Erasure forum at moments like this. I know that Pughie's hangout exists but it's hardly representative of the Erasure fanbase like the old place was, more people taking time from whacking off at Katy Perry videos to come up with amusing captions for everybody's favourite postie. And any Erasure forum without s t e p h a n o is clearly not the real deal. He hasn't commented on the new release yet but recently tweeted his love for his fans - "I love you all -thank you again for all the amazing support throughout the year. I promise to keep doing my best for you & not let you down"

Ace. From Pughie's forum.
Time for some reality,
I Don't object to erasure doing a Christmas album, I hope it sounds different and great, and we get some new tunes to boot.
However, that album cover.. Is simply dreadful, the album sound and feel has been compared to Kate Bush and Tracey Thorn in the press release. So why then have mute/erasure signed off to a cover that looks kitch and cheap is staggering, it will only help to put off a general public, and confirm to a music press that the band are irrelevant.
Sorry to be negative,
The cover hasn't gone down well on popjustice and is creating a negative image of the band

Gaudete is the kind of song Charles Manson and his gang would sing, sat around in a circle. Its horrible.

I can imagine that when this fails Stephano will claim it was only a side project. You know with better art work they could almost pull it off. They should have called the LP 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.

It's even worse than Union Street and that took some doing. The actual globe idea is ok but neither look like Vince or Andy and everything else looks horrific. The stripes looks like your Grans wallpaper in the 70's.Syncratic wrote:I can imagine that when this fails Stephano will claim it was only a side project. The should so a deal with Tescos where they could pack CDs into christmas crackers. Think of it, you could win some nail clippers, a tiny pack of cards or an Erasure CD.

Interesting you don't see Andy's hand. With that facial expression, you wonder what said hand was actually doing.
Was track 7 trying to tell us something?

I always think that Andy looks a bit like a fey Alf Tupper in that picture.

I dunno, I think of any of the washed up brit electric groups from the 80's, Erasure is the first candidate for a Christmas album. Or maybe you were hoping Depeche Mode would do one instead.

Re: Erasure: Tomorrow's World
The clips are out there. Just 30 seconds of them but I think they have been taken down. Having had the misfortune of hearing them, it's probably the biggest embarrassment in the history of music. After the decent Tomorrows World, wtf were they thinking? It is only 30 secs though. Gaudete is truly horrific.
I'm amazed at how bad they sound.
