I loved The Grid radio edit of "When Do I Get To Sing My Way" and bought the 12" double pack promo for a couple of quid in a record fair many years ago. Was kind of disappointing that none of the mixes were any good, but it's a nice item to have.

I looove this song. I always give it a huge cheer when I,see Sparks live. In my head it became linked with Princess Diana not having a chance to become Queen which gives it an extra layer of emotion.

I actually prefer the version on Plagiarism.

And yeah, "Lil Beethoven" is about as close to perfection as albums get.

Possibly my favourite Sparks song is the version of Pulling Rabbits Out Of A Hat found on Plagiarism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yAGWHiOj18

The original from 1984 is quite a nice slice of synth pop with orchestral hits and the works as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pOnxcxYWWg

It's always amazed me that PSB claims to not have been influenced by Sparks. It's quite an obvious comparison.

I know that Sparks started earlier (as a band not a synth duo btw); but around the time of "My Way", the influence was the other way round. Sparks were influenced by PSB.
