I think quite a few that goes to a Erasure concert these days are just interested in the older songs, a nostalgia trip to the 80's if you will, probably the same with Pet shop Boys to some extent.

They're also fascinated by pughie.

That's quite a collection of Pughie pictures you got there, maybe Erasure should, sell special vip ticets to their concerts, meet and greet with Vince, Andy and Pughie. By the way, who is the guy in uniform and black tie?

Already got 500 plus orders within days of this going online! Great idea and will be the first Erasure vinyl LP for a while I think (since Other people's songs in 2003).

Can't wait!

This will be the first Erasure album I've bought on vinyl since Wild!! I miss those days, when buying the singles were almost more exciting than buying the album because of all the great b-sides and remixes that often surpassed the originals (looking at you William Orbit).

Also, how great is the Paul Humphrey's mix of "Be The One"? Makes me wonder what an entire OMD produced Erasure album would be like.

I doubt that the over-excited reviewer in Classic Pop magazine can really be serious about that last line in his review. I bet boths groups read it and cringed!!

Top 20 is a bonus for erasure as I doubt they expected even top 30 and I don't believe they care that much either

Quite agree: 80% of both setlists are made by 80's songs: how many songs from Nightlife, Very,Bilingual, Release or Fundamental are been played by PSB in the last 2 tours? Only NYC Boy, Go West and Se A Vida E' (plus 1' from CTH & Can you forgive her?), too many people wants only 80's hits for their shows. The same happened with all the Erasure albums from I Say (1994) to today.

It's true isn't it? Basically 80's greatest hits plus a few songs from the current album! Seems the trend. To be fair though I would sort of feel ripped off if PSB and Erasure didn't have most of their 80's hits in the setlist. I'd happilly go to a concert where as only songs from Discography or Pop! 20 Hits were played. For me both bands were at their prime back then, I love listening to Discography or Pop 20 Hits but struggle a bit with Pop Art and Greatest Hits of Erasure. I can't pick out a bad or even averagre song in Discography and Pop. Well, maybe Was it Worth it and Breath of Life but even they are not too bad!

Went to see Erasure last night in Royal Oak and it was an outstanding show. Many of the songs were in 12" form such as the excellent You Surround Me remix from the 1989 single. Reason was the strongest performance of the new material and sounded more powerful live than on the album. I Lose Myself from Tomorrow's World was almost hardcore in nature. An excellent show all the way around!

I thought it would have been top 10 actually with sales being low. Especially as it sounds like the most Erasureish album for a long time from what I've heard.

It would have been nice to see an old act back in the top ten.

Poor promotion again? The producer wouldn't have been cheap. Still think they could do much better in terms of artwork.

5,189 in the U.K. As for the U.S, you'd probably be looking at a couple of thousand max for number 48.

The boxset was a limited edition of 3,500 apparently so they did OK selling that out. I still don't know if sales go towards chart position, I don't think it does so that added to the 5,000 odd chart sales and even the vinyl which is selling really well would have given them a much better chart position. Not that I care to be honest but I think they have done OK with this album which I think is brilliant. Can't wait to see them in Guildford in November, never thought they would play there!
