Floods not close to me. YFU & Sam live (lived?) in York.

Hoping everyone is well away from them. :)

*appears*

As I suspect Shopper saw on FB, the car park of our apartment complex was flooded, but that didn't effect us as we don't have a car. The water wasn't anywhere close to flooding the apartments, still less to ours as we're on the third floor. Sadly many other families and businesses weren't so lucky...

Oh hello, Uncle. Good to see you alive (if not necessarily well).

Ah I'm well enough, thanks. Just decided to look in on the forums for obvious reasons. :)

As if I could ever compete with your eloquence.

True, but you're probably less of a windbag.

But enough about me. I'm interested in your take on Super. What's the verdict? Get on that dance floor and shake your stuff. I need somebody to point and stare at.

A little uneven, a bit too similar to Electric musically, but a definite grower and I'm enjoying it more on each re-play. I understand that it's supposed to be a happy poppy album, but given the current state of the world I was hoping for at least one bit of biting political commentary. Maybe next time...

I think it's very subversive. It's basically their head shop album, from the cover art to the fact that everybody seems to be trying to get out of their heads in one form or another. It's also addictive, which is appropriate in the circumstances.

Maybe that's the only appropriate response to the current UK government, other than to re-release actually...
