Re: Neil Tennant announces new book
I ordered both the special edition and standard hardback (one to read, one to treasure), I'm yet to receive shipping notices for either.
I tracked my package from the link in the original order confirmation email from Waterstones...took me to a page stating my order was "processing". Ridiculous.

I only ordered the standard edition through Book Depository, but have already had an email on Oct 29th to say the book's on its way. I'm quite sure it'll arrive weeks before the same thing from the OS, based on many previous transactions with Book Depository - LOL

I got this email as well patrick, how limited can these really be if they are going to give them to everyone who was left unbelievably disappointed!Patrick Bateman wrote: Thu 01 Nov 2018, 6:10 pm Faber and Faber is clearly the publishing equivalent of EMI.
Hello there—
I'm afraid I'm writing with bad news.
You recently ordered a copy of a special edition of Neil Tennant's One Hundred Lyrics and a Poem (9780571351572) from faber.co.uk.
But we made a mistake. The particular version of the book you ordered, 9780571351572, should never have been available for purchase on our website; it was intended to be sold directly from the band's website. But due to a technical error on our part, you were able to order the book and now it's publication day and you are expecting your book and we do not have it to send you, and you never even received a message to say your order had been cancelled.
To be clear: your order was cancelled, which means you were never charged for your purchase.
I'm really sorry. It's a human error, and it's ours, and there's not much more to it, really.
We want to try and go some way to make amends, so we are going to be sending you a free copy of the normal edition of Neil's book. But we'll also be including something a little special: one of a very limited number of letterpress prints that Neil made of his own lyrics at the London College of Book Arts earlier this year. They're beautiful little things – there are some pictures attached.
They will go out on Monday, direct from our offices here.
Again, I'm really sorry. I really hope you enjoy the book when it arrives.
Best wishes,
Ian

Took the day off work, went down to London on the train, went to London review bookshop and bought one. Guy behind the counter told me all their copies were signed.
Only cost me a £40 train fare.....![]()
"Tucky101" you should be called "Lucky101"! lol....

Think so too - that is the least they could do! What on earth has gone wrong with this all? It is not really difficult is it?

I reserved a copy of the standard edition at Waterstones Norwich last Saturday morning and picked it up at 18:20hrs the same evening.
Some may have seen a facebook post with said copy and bottle of Corona

You are missing the fact that it took them months to realise it shouldn't have been made available on the website, confirmation emails sent of orders placed,no mention at all that a mistake had been made, fans thinking they managed to secure a copy, after all only 500 special edition's were produced.alig wrote: Fri 02 Nov 2018, 3:52 pm Human errors happen all the time everywhere. Has anyone received their special edition yet?
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

Special edition or not
Surprised to see so little buzz about this book here. Thought there would be some Pethead reviews by now ....

Yeah me too. Seems as though there's been so much angst about the logistics of getting the book that the actual thing itself - which is of course very lovely - has been completely neglected. Bizarre really. (Particularly surprised, incidentally, to see no mention of the book whatsoever on geowayne, given that that the lyrics are basically the entire raison d'etre of the site.)

Re: Neil Tennant announces new book
I'm unsure what you can say about a book of lyrics we already know by heart.
It's nice item, and I ordered a signed one at a reasonable price from a site someone kindly posted link to on here. But I"m not exactly running down to the postman every morning.

I think each set of lyrics is annotated with Neil’s comments Tom.Tom Angel wrote:I'm unsure what you can say about a book of lyrics we already know by heart.
