Has Radio 2 played the full version of Monkey Business? Maybe not but...

#1 Post by Nickname »

The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show played the song today (looks like Zoe Ball likes the song). Anyway, she started to red text message while the song went on. But it was supposed the song had finished it kept on going. The thing is it looked more like a loop of the middle of the song than anything else. The funny thing is the track length with this additonal sound is exactly the four minutes and 8 seconds of the album version.

I don't think it is the album version but it's really curious, isn't it?. Well, PSB doing songs of 3 minutes and then Radio 2 recreates a version of 4 minutes.

What are you on about? It starts at 1:06:00 and finishes right about 1:09:10, so it's the radio edit we all know and (don't really) love. :D

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

She starts reading messages and there is a loop of the song of one more minute after that (I think so).

By the way, I wanted to put this on the Monkey Business Thread but I don't know how to delete a post.

It's not the album version, if Effen Vida is to be trusted, there's still an additional verse we haven't heard.

Hanging from the rafters,
I’m a chimpanzee,
What I do for afters,
You’ll have to wait and see!

F**k, the album version sounds even worse than the radio edit.

And you notice there is a lack of a new verse in the single version. Yes, 3 minutes is too short.

My observation based on that extra verse quoted by Effen.

I hope the fade out of the song doesn't spoil anything, at least. I suppose there are no new sounds on the album version.

I knew this last bit didn't work, i wondered how Neil could have placed "you'll have to wait and see" 😁

Effen's extra verse is real. It is not Fake News.
"Politics are too emotional now. Contemporary culture generally is too emotional, really... I'd rather people looked to the truth." (Neil Tennant)
