Re: New Erasure album
that i have to agree...lots of throwbacks into their quintessential sound for sure! good idea on the instrumentalpsbfannyc wrote: Fri 21 Aug 2020, 6:17 pm The synths are just fabulous! But Andy's lyrics...not even creative. Sad. I hope the instrumentals get released. Vince really made some great pop music.

Synth-pop legends Erasure are at Number 2 with their eighteenth studio album The Neon, in line to become their highest-charting album in 26 years. The Neon is the bestseller on vinyl so far this week.

It will fall. Top 5 would be an excellent result, top 10 a very good one.

Re: New Erasure album
Greetings,
With Pet Shop Boys having come off a trilogy of #3 places, the prospect of anything higher than #4 for Erasure is abhorrent.
As for the albums chart, it was nice to see Jim Bob from Carter USM crack the Top 30 in the week just gone.
Retro.

Jim Bob’s album is a Post Historic Monsters era Carter sounding album. It’s very good!retrofuturist wrote: Thu 27 Aug 2020, 11:08 pm Greetings,

Listened to half the album and its decent actually. A bit unlucky not to be number 2 but apart from Killers, those sales are atrocious.

Listened to the album for the first time last night. Not bad at all, a solid affair I would say. For good and bad you know what you get when it comes to Erasure. No big surprises, a bit samey but a nice collection of electronic pop songs.

Wow. 8000 copies! Bear I mind the multitude of formats they had too. Cd. Deluxe cd. Vinyl. Coloured vinyl. Cassette. You’re basically looking at 2000 fans.
