And why should they ? Performance went as far as it could. It’s not like they have turned up with a microphone and a keyboard, on their tours since Performance, there have been some great shows, which have cost a lot of money to stage, no doubt about that. And if they did a Performance tour again that was 30 years ago, imagine what that would cost today.
The ticket prices would be extraordinary to pay for that, and would you pay for that ?

And as Neil has said: With Performance they went as far as they wanted with the theatrical experience, there was no reason to take it further, they had achieved what they wanted from it.

The thing is if they make a theatrical show and they don't put a good budget on it, fans are going to remember Performace. You know, Performance was a blockbuster and people want something like that. Not a cheap version of PSB (like on their last albums).
With the greatest of respect, Nickname, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Just your opinion, which you are entitled to, but nothing more than that.. Their "recent" concerts at the Royal Opera House were nothing like "cheap".. :wall:

It’s unlikely they’ll have budget for personnel beyond the band so any theatrical elements are likely to be confined to the staging and lighting.

Well, I was talking more about the albums when I said "cheap". I know the last shows are not cheap but Performance was an expensive show. If you make another theatrical show, you have to bear in mind Performance. Because people could remember that show and think this one is a cheaper version of the other one. So the budget is really important.

I wish they earned a lot of money from the TV adverts for the show.

Just before Release came out in 2002, PSB undertook a short tour of UK universities with a full band. Later in the same year, after the album, they played concerts across the world which featured the same band, but with an expanded setlist and increased production values. This is a good representation of the Uni-tour, from Cologne, which I think was the only date outside the UK. https://youtu.be/IlhpeYTUJCQ

The Jools Holland performances give a good impression of the tour too:

I saw this tour at the Sziget Festival in Hungary. Really enjoyed it.

Randomly happening across the soundcheck, earlier in the day, my wife and I were treated to a full rendition of “New York City boy” along with about 5 other people! Was like our very own personal concert!
Neil said “You’re not to supposed to be hearing this” with a big smile on his face.
Then Neil asked Chris if they should run through “West End girls”. Chris replied “Do you really want to attract a crowd?” not with a smile on his face..!
More strobes and BANGING, please!
