I've had this little obsession with Kill Bill recently. Vol. 1 is genius: after puking at the first amputation, you laugh at the rest. Someone told me Vol. 2 is quite pure slush, anyway.
I've seen the Japanese version where the fight scene that normally goes to black and white stays in colour... I agree it ends up being more comical than disgusting.
he would be an even better director if he wasn't such a geek, although i enjoyed Kill Bill I thought it could have been even better if he didn't try to show off his knowledge so much - haven't seen vol. 2 yet

Anyway, he is even capable of citating himself. I watched Pulp Fiction at lunchtime, and there are TONS of hints that lead to Kill Bill. I guess Tarantino is saved by his own self-irony.

I've always thought his face looks a bit like Morrissey.
I have seen part one, but it just did not have the same impact on me as other Tarantino movies, I was slightly dissapointed... And I still don't know why. Maybe I was just expecting an entirely different movie. Still, the part where the Bride fights that mum and the kid come home, it is so hilarious!
