was surprised kraftwerk came out on top.
good seeing new order in there also. considering they didn't have too many 7 inches,
mostly 12 inches.

although i do have the 9(well 11) different colored sleeves of that.

They missed out the cracking 'Megablast'/'Don't Make Me Wait' by Bomb The Bass from 1988. Oddly 'Dont Make Me Wait' had a synth riff that was almost exactly the same as 'Domino Dancing'. They came out so close together ('Dont Make Me Wait' one month before 'Domino Dancing') it has to be a coincidence, rather than copyright infringement. Have a listen to both, you'll see what I mean.

In recent years, I've wondered if both tracks were paying homage to a previous pop/hip-hop song that I'm not aware of with that riff - maybe both were ripping something else off..?

Both great tracks from Autumn 1988. Goes to show not all songs that sound the same are ripping each other off! Total coincidence I'm certain. Both acts had similar influences though.

Not sure when Don't Make Me Wait was release in 1988, but it doesn't give a lot of time for either side to hear and then react, esp given how slow media was to release back then. Unless someone was pre-touring their future single?

Either way, the similarities are not missable!

Also, what constitutes a "Double A-Side"?

Is it leading with a new track while releasing an album track? In the case of Where the streets have no name (I can't take my eyes off you)?

PSB have plenty of strong B-sides.

Did any of the people in the list announce a release as double-a? Or is it just something people accept over time?

It was specifically because of his work with Expose that they chose to work with Martinee.

Lewis Martinee came up with that riff..the coincidence is a well worn discussion
