Re: Smash - The Singles 1985 - 2020
Today (on my urgence) I've received the following update from the official PSB European store support:
"I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been experiencing issues placing an order.
Please be advised that due to recent updates to our system, we have been experiencing some unforeseen technical issues with some orders, when they are placed on our online stores.
I would like to apologise to you for the inconvenience this is causing you. I want to reassure you that this matter is being looked into as a priority.
Your query has now been raised for investigation and once the investigation is complete, I will be in touch with an update.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to provide a timeline as to when this will be resolved. But, our teams are working to get this fixed as soon as possible.
I would like to thank you in the meantime, for your patience whilst we look to resolve this matter. If you have any other issues, please feel to get in touch."

It's even more simpler than that: they just did what they wanted to do, following a logic that makes sense only to them. We just have to deal with it.Dog wrote: Wed 05 Apr 2023, 3:27 pm The way you re-articulate it is a mess. It’s simple:
They’ve confirmed the definition of a single they are using for track selection
They’ve confirmed the rationale used for the mix that’s included

Yes of course you do, it’s not a democracy, it’s their music, they can do whatever they want to, simple as that.

Anyone done today's Wordle?
Firing verbal shots.......like a Tommy Gun
Re: Smash - The Singles 1985 - 2020
The logic can't apply to singles pre-1987 of course but I agree with your point about Vocal. I think they said they chose the US version of New York city boy as they prefer it. I didn't know there was a US version tbhmisterme wrote: Wed 05 Apr 2023, 3:13 pmSo the logic is as following:Dog wrote: Tue 04 Apr 2023, 6:48 pm Quite a bit of new info in the new PSB social media post - key bits below:
All UK singles released on CD are included - plus West end girls to Suburbia. Double A sides or EPs just get the lead track which received radio play. UK seven inch mixes are used throughout, except for New York City boy, where PSB prefer the US edit.
"Smash" only includes singles released in UK on CD but as 7inch versions, not the versions released on those CD singles...
Not a crystal clear logic to begin with.
So they started relaxing these rules by including the "Please" singles even if they were not released on CD. Imagine a greatest hits compilation without those singles...
Then, of course, we cannot have CD versions, otherwise we would have "Where The Sreets Have No Name" and "Vocal" in full length form.
And to add to the confusion, they have used the US single version for "NYC Boy" instead of the UK one.
What a mess !

They have removed what I think is the best bit of the song, the "baila ba-baila..." part

Received the exact same email this morning, so hopefully something will be done about it!

They don't seem to like the 'and when the evening falls ...' break in the UK single and album version of New York city boy. It hasn't appeared in recent live versions has it?daveid wrote: Wed 05 Apr 2023, 7:19 pmThe logic can't apply to singles pre-1987 of course but I agree with your point about Vocal. Love comes quickly, but is a catastrophe and a bourgeois construct etc.

In the meantime I received this message from them:
"We are not aware of any technical issues with the site.
We would recommend trying the following;
- Clear browsing history and cookie
- Try using an alternative browser"
I just replied that they are fooling me.
Ordering from the US Store is too expensive, adding P&P.

You placed the order with the US, we are unable to assist you with issues on the EU store.
...
To be honest, I don't know what to do (read my previous message).

Unfortunately, in Amazon you can't fine cassettes and/or white vinyl releases.
