Look, all I can say is listen Jessie Ware's What's Your Pleasure album for the kind of vibe I expect from these sessions.
I'm sure this combo of Neil Chris and James will deliver something special.
I wouldn't be surprised if they create another 'Devices'.

Fundamental is the worst album of them all, for me. Though I'm aware it's a fan favourite.
Who knows if the Strings and Brass photos mean the album will be focused on those sounds.
I'm fully expecting the brass and strings to be incorporated with electronic dance elements layed along side in the studio.
I'm expecting the new album to be Please 2. With hip-hop inspired elements, plenty of pop-y synth elements, and PSB's trademark orchestral style.
Please has been doing well on streaming services recently. To me it's natural to choose sounds that fit in with Please and Actually following the Greatest Hits tour. Stick to their guns.
(I'm also expecting some modern creative twists, but James Ford's recent production efforts on Memento Mori seems to be aimed at a timeless, career-defining sound in favour of the latest trends. In a good way.)
Let's not forget, the album was announced along side an image from the studio with a wide array of vintage sythnesisers and other electronic equipment.

I love the idea of an eclectic album.

I don't want the typical b-sides from Chris to be part of the main album, I want proper songs with a strong structure and a high quality chorus. Good lyrics are ok but you should bear in mind a huge amount of fans around the world didn't know anything about the lyrics because they didn't know English language.

The most important thing is the melody (the ABC of music) and they have been losing part of this touch over the years.

All of us are waiting a new Left to my own devices when we see an orchestra but PSB have many songs with orchestra and I don't think any of them could get the same level. So I don't want to expect something that big. I know they consider Left to my own devices a bit over-the-top which is sad because we like that and Chris doesn't like the orchestral arrangements too much.

By the way, I think we can expect a song similar to Monkey Business with the Hohner Piano Clavinet DUO.

I think that pic should be the album cover by the way. At the very least I would like a poster of it

Nickname is adding one and one and making five! It came to light in Trevor Horn’s recent autobiography that Chris didn’t like Richard Niles’s original even more over the top orchestral arrangement for the end of Left To My Own Devices. It was described as sounding like Oklahoma! on glue…

Something like Jessie Ware's The Kill would fit PSB. But I'm afraid it might be more in the vein of her last single, Begin Again, which goes too much over the top at parts.

Fundy and Elysium are two favs of mine.

I love the textures, and I love when Neil holds us close with more earnest topics.

They decidedly put the Fun in Fundamental. It's one reason they chose the name! Right from the opening two tracks they gave us ring side seats at a circus, and that album still holds up well today.

However, I think Lost disposes of tracks and the possibility of a Fundy-styled effort. I think they might wisely side step dwelling on current events (plague/war/right wing zealots) for the new work.

My prediction is something "Beautiful", à la Behavior. With a select few dance tracks.

The Church Studios is a recording studio located in a former church in Crouch End, North London, England. It was rented and then owned by Dave Stewart in the 1980s and 1990s, and was used to record Eurythmics' second album Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (1983). David Gray acquired ownership in 2004 before British record producer Paul Epworth bought and refurbished the studio in 2013. It has since been used by notable artists such as Adele, Beyoncé, Mumford & Sons, Coldplay and Madonna.

In the Thank You's, Ware refers to having worked with Price 10 years ago.

According to the sounds of these music instruments, I see a coming back to that gothic sounds from "Actually". Many elements remind me to me "It couldn't happen here", "King Cros", even "It's a sin", they are even in Church Studios (a place that works perfectly for it). Bear in mind, the new album will be a return to topics of the life of PSB, so it's easy to understand about the return of those sounds.

Then I think we have very typical elements of the typical pop sounds from Pet Shop Boys used for song like Thursday with Chris playing the keyboards.

I knew they loved the funky sounds of "Monkey Busines" and I see we'll have one song at least in that vein.

A new "Left to my own devices"?, I don't know but looks like PSB use orchestra for ballads more than up-tempo sounds. But I wish something similar.

Of course, a bit dance oriented song is expected but not many, that's for sure.

Then we can expect those dowtempo and sad songs some of them very narrative (with a lot of words on it) with some sentimental touches.

It's just a speculation but I think it can work.
