It says Import on Japanese site. So probably it will be European edition + OBI strip, like they did with JP edition of Discovery DVD+2CD.
Just received my copy from Japan. You are correct…and it’s gorgeous. It also has an extra Japanese/English lyric book, and a ‘signed’ card from the boys to their Japanese fans.

At first I didn't think it was necessary such a release but it has been fun to revisit to some of their singles that I hadn't listened to in a while. I like the chronological order and how they keep evolving but still recognisable.

The version on Smash I believe is the same original version that was on the bootleg Demography. I'd have the play it to find out. But I am pretty sure what is on Smash is what the version the PSB wanted to originally release as the Somewhere 7" single. This also explains why the Somewhere extended mix did not show up on the single release. A few weeks later they had clearance to use those words and they were able to include it on Bilingual Special Edition.
How can this original be on Smash when there is less dialogue and absolutely no mention of OHOH?
Apple (and probably all streaming) have now replaced the "wrong" version of Somewhere with the regular single mix, though I'm assuming the physical products (which I haven't bought yet) have the erroneous rendition?

Still the "clean" intro version on Spotify, no replacement there.

It's now been replaced on Spotify.

So we're stuck with the wrong version on SMASH (CD)?

This is as bad as the Being Boring c*** up!

Why has there been zero advertising and promotion for this though? Where’s the Radio 2 interview? Where’s the Greatest Hits Radio interview? Where’s Neil chatting to Janet on Loose Women? Where’s the One Show appearance? Sunday Brunch? Zero tv adverts, I’ve seen no billboards (accept that I’m outside London though). The only people that know this is out is the fanbase and it’s not really aimed at them!

Has anyone seen the cover photo of "Smash" without the lyrics?

It sounds to me like I've seen it in a photo or on video when it was presented.

I'm interested as wallpaper.

They're on tour - that's the promotion

The fan base alone won't have made it chart as high as it has

It's for the long term, replacing Discography and PopArt as their definitive greatest hits album. I don't think they're particularly bothered about any short-term promotion, other than it coming out when they're on tour. In an age of streaming, anyone who wants to hear Always on my mind can be easily directed to SMASH rather than Discography or PopArt.

Is it me or is Smash's Somewhere the video edit?

Has anyone noticed that the VOCAL video has been changed? The video now uses the radio edit, whereas before the video used a unique mix which ended in a repeat of the "so strong, it's so strong" lyrics and a fade. The YouTube version has also been replaced.

It's the best remastered versions so far.

You're not alone. It's been two weeks since SMASH has been officially released, and I still haven't gotten any notification as to when my copy will ship. I live in the USA, and like you, I ordered mine via the PSB website. I've been getting the same replies you've been getting with no word as to when my item will finally get mailed. Very frustrating.
