Well, looking at the Amazon page it seems it's being released in december in paperback format of 336 pages.

The original was 336 pages. So this doesn't look like it is the new version.

In the recent Classic Pop interview there is mention of updating Catalogue:
As well as updating their 2006 artwork book Catalogue next year and planning a musical based around a Hans Christian Andersen story (a different tale to their 2011 Andersen ballet The Most Incredible Thing), Neil and Chris began recording a new album in March. It’s being made with Depeche Mode producer James Ford.
Chris summarises Pet Shop Boys’ future plans: “Touring places we haven’t been, musical, Catalogue, maybe a new production of Closer To Heaven, new album. That’s it from us.” Not forgetting more incredible singles, undoubtedly.

Chris: "I don't really like MP3's. It's like having a 1 megapixel digital camera."

As I've just reported on my website (http://www.geowayne.com/newDesign/whatsnew.htm), the publisher of Catalogue, Thames & Hudson (https://www.thamesandhudsonusa.com/book ... -hardcover) has reported an April 2024 release date of a revised, updated edition. And it appears (very surprisingly) that it's going to be retitled Volume, though for the time being I'm taking that retitling with a grain of salt.

The publisher has listed it as having a whopping 560 pages, up from the 336 pages of the original edition.

Thames & Hudson are also publishing a book about the work of Es Devlin. The book description doesn't saw whether any of the work she's done for PSB will be included in the book.

The book dimensions seem to have changed. This new version might be smaller if the web page is correct: Size: 6.25 in x 9.25 in

Great spot. 560 pages suggests a complete reformatting. May well coincide with the new album's release date.

Feels a shame that it's not going to be a coffee table sort of thing any more, although it does sound like it'll be sufficiently distinct from Catalogue to justify going over all that stuff again. I think the subject matter justified the larger format of the original though, and I worry a bit that all the glorious reproductions of the artwork are going to be a bit squashed. Especially the LPs.

6 by 9" is pocketbook paperback size - jeez, I have trouble now reading the tiny text of Annually but this is going to be even more of an ordeal.

Yeah - excited for a new release but disappointed if it is a smaller format. Hoping for a special XXL edition for those of us with failing eyesight!

edit: I don't mind the title "Volume" ... works on a couple of levels at least and is very PSB
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional
