And I go BY FACTS!

PSB overrated Love comes quickly. They thought it was a beautiful, great track but it didn't reach that high on the charts.
They perhaps also overrated Domino dancing, it wasn't as successful as they might have thought
I remember from another forum that we overrated New York city boy, we thought that it would a much bigger hit and a return to imperial days, but the concept wasn't that popular.
The “facts” you have presented all relate to commercial success. Commercial success has nothing to do with the value of art.
The premise was "overrated". Commercial success or not was not stated.
Do you know about verb tenses?
Fact is N&C thought Love comes quickly was going to be a bigger hit, it wasn't, they overratED the song. Love comes quickly has become a classic. Few people overratE it now.
What do you think having a hit means? Do you think it’s anything to do with commercial success?

If you are asking opinions of what people THINK are over/underrated tracks then it's only ever going to be personal perceptions unless you come up with some sort of scientific frame. Chart success or lack of it is one method of measuring increasingly shallow public taste. Geowayne rankings above/below a certain ranking. The boy''s (assumed) personal preference for certain songs by playing them to death in concerts or ignoring them quickly. A grid of songs via some criteria acceptable to you and asking people to rank their top 5 against that criteria and not if they like/hate them. Don't protest if you don't set the boundaries.
And at the end/ Your funny Uncle staring / At all your friends / With military bearing

IAS, though I admit it has a lot of power especially when performed live.
Plus it's fairly unique in the PSB library. It does sound like I Will Survive, to a degree.
Anyway to me it's not as great as it may seem.
It's hard to pin an overrated PSB song. I guesss NYC Boy is the other one.
Apparently it's a really popular, highly-streamed favourite. But it's barely tolerable and
doesn't quite have the PSB ethos of sadness and synthesisers.

Judging by the singles released it would have to be "Vocal", although I do like the recent live version.
If you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to fear
If you've something to hide, you shouldn't even be here!

I know. I just thought more of the forum after all these years than us merely throwing out yet another list of favourite/non-favourite songs. I guess the world is not yet ready for my ideas ;)

Nice summation of PSB: sadness and synthesisers.

I see "overrated/underrated" as a kind of hipster cliché since most of the popular songs/albums fall into "overrated" category and good but not so popular ones are usually underrated :)
As for Vocal, I don't dislike it, in fact I enjoyed it as a closing number of Electric tour, but its greatness and euphoria are a bit overstated for my taste. My brain likes the overall message but the music and the atmosphere don't do much for me - probably because I've never been to British rave in late 80s/early 90s? Anyway, Boys and people love it, so who am I to judge.
It's all subjective and subtle, as always.

What are these “FACTS”?

We all have a opinion on overrated/underrated songs.

Songs that nearly everyone knows, and many people profess to love, and get lots of exposure, but for me aren’t quote as good as other songs…

Go West, What have I & New York City Boy for me. All still good, but would nearly always rather listen to other songs (at home or live).

For me it’s „What have I done to deserve this“. I never liked the hook of the song. But the Remixes are really good.

What Keeps Mankind Alive?

I just wish people would stop banging on about that track. Those days are well behind them, we can't expect them to keep returning to that style just for fan service.

Completely agree. Can't lie, though, I'd love it if the new album was 12 tracks in the style of What Keeps Mankind Alive? Ideally extended versions.

Ah, the imperial phase.

I'm listening to it right now. This is where they peaked!
