Revisiting old songs to remake them for live performances happens with each tour. Perhaps they are preparing to refresh their tour music? Dreamworld can’t go on forever… and hopefully it isn’t their final tour.

Sure, but with newly recorded vocals? Surely that's intended for release, not just live?

This surely has to be part of a larger project - you don't just remix a bunch of old tunes (with new vocals as well!) for $h1ts and giggles.

I agree. Maybe it was for the Dreamworld tour? We know (since the Pandemonium tour) that they do record some kind of guide vocals to the new arrangements. On the other hand, if so it should probably be 2020 rather than 2021.

It's mystery as to why they have done this.

Maybe for an album of Re-versions...? Doesn't seem very them though, particularly with new album coming out. In fact they wouldn't do it.

I agree that it's ace hearing reworked songs live - Performance versions were amazing. And nightlight actually. Shame these have never been released properly.

As to Heart 2021 I think it was probably a lockdown thing for Chris as with West End girls.

Artists do 'reimaginings' of their old stuff all the time. Duets versions, acoustic, orchestral, or simply re-recordings due to either trying to get away from a contract (Taylor Swift) or totally out of ideas (Marti Pellow sings the songs of Wet Wet Wet anyone?). Why can't PSB show them how it should be done? There are enough of these to make an album, and could easily be the different direction each Disco album takes finally worked out.

They could've already done it. I was thinking of a different approach to PopArt. Instead of all the singles, they had enough material of alternative versions (not so much remixes) released on different formats already in 2004 to make a "poparty"-collection:

It seems there is CD every other year and 2023 was that year so I was not expecting one, albeit was hoping for one.
