Re: New Single - Loneliness
I've saved posting my thoughts for a couple of days to give it plenty of listens and allow myself plenty off time to form an informed opinion. And I'm really glad I did. When I initially heard it on its first listen I felt a little "Meh" about it. After a few more listens I thought it was ok. I liked the sound and production but was left a little cold. It was only last night when it all finally clicked. Now I absolutey love it. I like the Radio mix but it truly comes in too its own when you listen to the Album mix. The extra length and the breakdown in the middle really give it chance to breathe. James Ford's production is realty good and love the orchestra and horns. More than anything else this provides a fantastic start to the album and I can see how it is teeing itself up for "feel" which I think will be a more slower paced, reflective song.
"Party at the blitz" is pure B side fodder but has also grown on me, at first I thought it was awful but now I like it but not an "A" tier B side by any means.
"Through you" is a song I liked immediately but I feel is a little repetitive in its extended form. Still a good doing though.
Overall I think this is a great package. I love the artwork, and everything associated with it. I'm really excited now for the album and have high hopes.

Didn’t even know they had a new one out. Hard to imagine that having just lost his wife, that VC would even contemplate new music. His solo album was already out and promos pencilled in, if that’s what they’re referring too. Though if so, again surprised not pulled or delayed.

That track was released in 2021. His time progresses as slowly as Erasures music developsPSBForTheMasses wrote: Fri 02 Feb 2024, 5:08 pmIt is called "Time hearts full of love" according to that fan.NikacP0kac wrote: Fri 02 Feb 2024, 4:49 pmDoes Erasure even have brand new music out? Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Having said that their last album, the reworking/restructuring of tracks from the previous album had some good stuff on it and was an original idea. Vince Clarke does some good remixes for others as well.

Do you think there's a bit of a linking theme stretching back here?
Loneliness

And at the end/ Your funny Uncle staring / At all your friends / With military bearing

It's a real pity that the joy and pleasure we all are currently experiencing from the new single and the future album is (totally) overshadowed by all the negative comments from the Dreamworld screenings

I don't think it really matters. Only big fans went to the cinema.wieske wrote: Fri 02 Feb 2024, 6:39 pm It's a real pity that the joy and pleasure we all are currently experiencing from the new single and the future album is (totally) overshadowed by all the negative comments from the Dreamworld screenings

Re: New Single - Loneliness
I know what you mean, however some people deal with grief by throwing themselves into their work or just keeping busy. I know it's a bit of a cliché, but perhaps that's how Vince Clark is dealing with his loss.dbaseboy wrote: Fri 02 Feb 2024, 5:41 pm Didn’t even know they had a new one out. And the download chart at 23. This is immense. Two days of sales and it’s a top 30 (sales) hit.

Re: New Single - Loneliness
You have a point for sure but the extremely high ticket prices for their upcoming Royal Opera House concerts, the problems with the Dreamworld screenings... won't this 'damage' their image at this point?jules wrote: Fri 02 Feb 2024, 7:08 pmI don't think it really matters.
