Thanks. Luna Park is really a low point for PSB, as far as I'm concerned. And that Diane Wareen demo really reveals that they should never have realead that song on an album, not to say as a single. Fundamental has three true b-sidematerial songs: Luna Park, Numb and Casanova in Hell. I'd rather had Fugituve, Resurrectionist (12'') and the original long mix of God Willing on the album. IMMEAL on the other hand is a masterpiece and Minimal on of their best.

Jeez, no need to put the word unreleased in caps like that.
Yes, someone leaked a Superchumbo remix of a Fundamental-era song. It's previously unreleased but not that good.
It's probably best not to post about leaks here in this forum, because such attention may hinder further leaks. I thought about mentioning this track in the Dancing Star single tread, since obviously Party In the Blitz is getting a remix by the same artist and it's why this person leaked the track. But I decided against it.
It's not 5 unreleased tracks. Any real fan would know that.
It's 1 unreleased remix.

Luna Park and Casanova in Hell are brilliant album tracks. LMFAO at the b-sides comment...

Luna Park while its lyrical subject is to the point the song lacks speed and edge to match the lyrics. Fugitive is much better at that and would've kept the album at a better pace. Fundamental gets slowed down with IMMEAL, then again with Numb, again with God Willing and yet again with Luna Park and Casanova.... that's too much.NotInvisible wrote: Mon 25 Mar 2024, 2:33 pm Luna Park and Casanova in Hell are brilliant album tracks. Casanova In Hell is lyrically a typical b-side, even according to N&C's own standards as explained in the Format booklet.

Fundamental and Release don't keep on balance uptempo and downtempo tracks. Songs like "Fugitive" or "I didn't get where I am today" and "Sexy northerner" should have been on their respective albums.telys wrote: Mon 25 Mar 2024, 2:39 pmLuna Park while its lyrical subject is to the point the song lacks speed and edge to match the lyrics. Luna park is one of their finest tunes in the tradition of the Theatre and Dreaming of the Queen.
And what a title - interestingly Bret Easton Ellis published a novel of the same name around that time!

It's almost like a deliberate contrast...telys wrote: Mon 25 Mar 2024, 2:39 pmLuna Park while its lyrical subject is to the point the song lacks speed and edge to match the lyrics.
I agree the b-sides are often more lyrically interesting than the album tracks, but as a completed piece it's a brilliant album track. I'm not a big fan of relegating their more unusual songs to b-sides.Casanova In Hell is lyrically a typical b-side, even according to N&C's own standards as explained in the Format booklet.

There is literally no reason why an album must have an equal split of uptempo and downtempo tracks. In fact there is no reason an album can't be comprised entirely of one or the other. Some albums are about mood and tone.Nickname wrote: Mon 25 Mar 2024, 3:24 pmFundamental and Release don't keep on balance uptempo and downtempo tracks.

I agree, Luna park is one of their most fantastic ballad for me. The superchumbo mix is strange for a song like this. The beginning makes me think to the horrible Smiler accident...Tom Angel wrote: Mon 25 Mar 2024, 3:43 pm Luna park is one of their finest tunes in the tradition of the Theatre and Dreaming of the Queen.

Three of these "unreleased" tracks were previously made available briefly for download from the official website a few years ago.

As someone posed on that youtube video, the Luna Park mix is not an unofficial leak..in fact, it has even an "official" video made around it!!, and it´s on youtube since 10 years ago, with very few views. The rare thing is that it remained out of the radar for almost everybody here!!

"The Superchumbo Mix was specially commissioned by the infamous Black Party in New York, an annual legendary gay/fetish/S&M party that gets pretty raunchy. Every year there is a "theme" and in 2013 –when Tom Stephan was headlining the DJ roster– the theme was "Luna Park." The Pet Shop Boys gave Stephan access to the vocal track but requested NOT to be involved or mentioned. Stephan –very quickly– delivered the mix that served as a centerpiece for the promotion of the event."
