Very good idea.TallThinMan wrote: Fri 29 Mar 2024, 3:14 pm It might be handy if there was a social media account or something where updates could be posted in the event of something similar happening again.

Re: Apparent DDoS Attack on the Forum
Yeah, I thought that. Maybe an account that only posts when the website has issues. I must admit, I searched for one on “X”, earlier, in the hope of finding out what was wrong.herts101 wrote: Fri 29 Mar 2024, 4:11 pmVery good idea.TallThinMan wrote: Fri 29 Mar 2024, 3:14 pm It might be handy if there was a social media account or something where updates could be posted in the event of something similar happening again.

Glad that the forum is back.
It's always creepy to see this kind of thing happening.

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone?

Re: Apparent DDoS Attack on the Forum
Okay, pressure is gone now and all things working fine again.
It should be something, what all people (worldwide) could reach and remember not somethings from my webspace - because if one page isn't available, mostly all other (of my pages) also will fail. Hehehe, petshopboys.co.uk/forum-online would be a good place... but then we have to ask someone from mamagement...
Wondering if I can put up somethings on The End Of The World...
Yes, it was the very same "claudebot", who was responsible for the stop. :-/leesmapman wrote: Fri 29 Mar 2024, 2:18 pm I had something similar on the forum I host. A few weeks ago. Not really a DDoS attack, but an overeager crawler that tried to get every content in as little time as possible. Very annoying.
Yes, good idea, but Social Media is not the best place (anymore). Would suggest a Twitter account, but this also isn't a good idea anymore. Other PSB forums/boards? Yes, possible. In the end these "downs" were very few in the past 20 years. Most of the people wouldn't remember, which place exactly was the one, we would put up any information...TallThinMan wrote: Fri 29 Mar 2024, 3:14 pm It might be handy if there was a social media account or something where updates could be posted in the event of something similar happening again.
