The Singular Single “Dancing Star”
We all know Neil loves to write songs about historical figures, many of which wind up as b-sides, but correct me if I’m
wrong, is this not the first ever PSB single which is primarily about a real life person who isn’t Neil?

Nice thought. I’m with Stupid being about Tony Blair is another.
Woof.

And Blair was the protagonist of I get along four years earlier.

Yes, I forgot about I'm with stupid. Still, this seems different. That was more political commentary than something like Jack the Lad or The resurrectionist.

It’s certainly the most overt.ChoonHound wrote:Yes, I forgot about I'm with stupid. Still, this seems different. That was more political commentary than something like Jack the Lad or The resurrectionist.

I’m here for it, as the kids say. A watershed moment at (Nearly) 70 is great.

Re: The Singular Single “Dancing Star”
But isn't it the first cover with a photo of a real person who isn't Neil or Chris (or a collaborator, Dusty is on What have I done to deserve this?)?

Re: The Singular Single “Dancing Star”
I may be somewhat about Blair but it doesn't say so explicitly... the lyrics could be interpreted as being about someone else. With Dancing Star there is no other possibility, it only retells Rudolf's life story.ChoonHound wrote: Fri 05 Apr 2024, 7:34 pm Yes, I forgot about I'm with stupid. Still, this seems different. Auf Wiedersehen is about Zweig
Living In The Past is about Putin (there's even a video)
Casanova In Hell
But those aren't singles...
