Miracles is among my favorites!

If it is indeed like “Miracles” with that same propulsive energy and chunky sounding electronics underlying the strings I will like it very much. Having said that, “Lonliness” and “Dancing star” could hardly be considered remarkable works within their cannon. “Loneliness” is strings and brass accompanied by a beatbox and ultimately sounds like awards show music.

“Dancing star” is slight at only three minutes and the lyrics about a defected Russian ballet dancer recall “London”; not mainstream enough subject matter for a single, almost more idiosyncratic b-side material. The music itself is mixed unimaginatively. In fact, the outside artist remix by Solomun betters the original track by leaps and bounds. The only other time in their career I may recall the outside artist mix improving on the original is the Pink Noise mix of “A Se Vida E.” Honestly I wish they would’ve gotten this Solomun guy to produce the entire album as James Ford seems to be the pedestrian producer of old pop stars.

Good question as I was thinking the same. Neil's voice just sounds like he's having an ongoing cold or something like that. You can say his voice is changing because he's aging, just like anybody, but to me, the 'change' came as a surprise, from one moment to another.

By the way, I noticed that Neil's voice changed that much for the first time when they recently performed for BBC.

This makes me think how much they polish his voice on recordings, when Neil's voice sounds ok and not that worrying.

Maybe he got hit hard by Covid some time ago. There was a lot of silence before the start of the Tour. It's all speculation, but this fact worries me too. Hope he is alright besides that.

Must be hard (and maybe even a bit frustrating) to sing almost every night during the tour, even when his voice is being tuned by some wizardry.

Covid consequence is my guess too. I think he already sounded a bit strange on Living in the past from last year.

Don’t forget he’s not far off being 70, coupled with never having the strongest voice either.

Rod Stewart has been wheezing for the last 50 years, and when I first saw him, I thought he was in his late 70s at the time (and this was 1991-1992 MTV.

I'd like to mention the exceptional song selection - Miracles. Minimal, Flamboyant - real gems and I'm very glad there was no So Hard or Being Boring, Go West.

I don't know who the radio guy is, but he chose marvellous songs.

I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. They all got on well and Rylan picked some unusual ones that I approve of. He may come across like a manicured estuary waxwork wots learnt to talk but he knows a good tune when he 'ears one.

I’ve been noticing this for a while now, and it doesn’t seem to be changing back to how it was. It might be an age thing, or it might be damage from Covid or another infection.

Neil will have access to the best health expertise though, so if his voice was deteriorating or it was a more serious problem, presumably he wouldn’t be lining up interviews and live dates.

Any experts on the forum? I think it’s just Neil’s new voice and we’ll get used to it.

It annoys me when some (many) interviewers talk too much and talk over interviewees. There was quite a bit of this with Rylan, though I will admit, some of the things he said were quite funny. I'm like, "just let them talk", and don't keep telling us how much you like them, it's tedious. (Graham Norton never does this ) Chris is pretty funny, and I love the way Neil's voice sort of goes up when he's getting into a story.

Maybe it's not actually Neil. If you see him barefoot on the album sleeve, you'll know the truth.
