I only joined the forum recently, despite viewing it for many years, and the main reason I hadn't joined previously was the issues with people posting things we have seen in the last few days.

The forum is on the whole absolutely brilliant. It brings people together from around the world with a common love of the boys and their music. It also ( very occasionally) brings out the worst in people, because like all social media sites it is very easy to make unpleasant comments when nobody can see who you are, and you can't be held to account for it. Things can also get misunderstood in text, or language differences, which can also be the cause.

I do fundamentaly think that the vast majority of people on here on true PSB fans, and lovely people, and so it would be a great shame if we lost some of those, leaving the forum because of the small minority. Hang on in there!

This is not the first time I come accross a fans forum and the attention gets hijacked by unpleasant comments, unfortunately
I try to ignore them. I rather concentrate my energy on those lovely and elocuent post I find here, like yours

I get excited everytime one of you shares your thoughts and views of N&C work. I love how serious you are about your remarks, and generous with the info you manage. It definitely makes me appreciate their music more

Dancing Star is quite superb. It's in a different league to the first single, which I'm not even sure I'd ever wish to listen to again. It's also great to see the video for it is very good - Neil and Chris might be easily eligible for free bus passes nowadays, but damn they're still looking cool when they want to. There's nothing particularly highbrow going on here, of course - it's a pop song about Rudolf Nureyev - but what other pop band would make a pop song about Rudolf Nureyev then the Pet Shop Boys?! Indeed, although I knew who he was, I ended up reading a whole lot more about him the other night after listening to the song about ten times - his story could make a Spielberg thriller, couldn't it?! And for those who haven't seen it, I highly recommend you watch his Muppet Show performance with a, erm, dancing pig from 1979 or 1980. A more senior friend tells me it was 'landmark television.' RN sure had some bottle - to defect from the Soviets at the peak of the cold war on the watch of The KGB to then go and dance with an obese pig on a dubious television show... if anyone deserves a tribute song, it's Rudolf.

So far, this batch of new songs actually reflects every chapter in Pet Shop Boys' history - some duds e.g. 'Loneliness,' some Ok 'If Jesus had a sister' and some masterful 'Dancing Star,' 'Through you.'

And I think that's pretty bloody decent.

I'll offer a counterpoint. I agree that overall the 'Dancing Star' package is great, but I think that 'Loneliness' has more depth. For me, 'Dancing Star' is small but not quite perfectly formed. As many others have said, it would benefit from a bridge/middle bit/B section.

I ‘sort of’ consider the listing of the cities as the bridge/middle bit section. x

Personally, I think people are just becoming far too jittery and fragile nowadays.shame its come here also.

Some of the people complaining about nickname have been on the forum for decades griping about his posts but today it seems they’re using the playbook of today’s generation by responding to his fairly benign silly comments with nasty over the top hate.

Maybe my fault is I insist on my arguments again and again but that's because PSB do also the same things again and again.

The problem is if I say their videos are sexists (like feminists also say that about videos where the females are the ones who are sexualized), some members of the forum use this argument to talk about homophobia. I suppose when you hate someone you want to think bad things about him.

I'm not going to say anything more about it but I wanted to make it clear.

Nice to see some actual forum busyness. I guess a new album will do that.

Really loving all the stuff from the campaign so far, I actually love the production, despite some naysayers out there. It sounds spare yet muscular at the same time. Dancing Star is great, it's an earworm to be sure.

Could someone summarise all the available versions of Dancing Star that are available? I think I read there are some alternative Dub versions on Beatport? True? Is there anything else beyond the download/CD content list?

Still no 12"s for Nonetheless singles announced I see. Boo!
