No, that’s not the unreleased full live video. That’s all of the individual songs badly edited together with the opening credits from ‘Highlights’. This version misses off the beginning of One More Chance which the original doesn’t. It doesn’t show Danny Cummings’s bongos/percussion solo which the original film shows. It also doesn’t show Neil’s band/dancers introductions or the beginning of It’s Alright which is also shown in the full official film. This version also abruptly cuts off the end of Left to my own devices which again, is intact in the full film. This version is also terrible quality. My copy is by no means ‘release quality’ but it’s a hundred times better than that. The tape also includes about 30 minutes of rehearsal footage from Wembley Arena. I was the first and original poster of this footage on YouTube (thecanveyboy) which was subsequently downloaded and re-uploaded by other users. The tape also includes about 40 minutes of roving camera footage and also includes footage of the whole set by the support act, The Balansceu (spell?) Quartet.

Yup, I’d love an official release of that but I love the rough, ethereal amateur recording too. I just loved how the song sounded, Neil’s voice sounds so strange on it. I believe they re-recorded it a few years ago for consideration to release it but they decided against it :(

Thanks. I never got why certain sections of the fanbase go gaga over that one.

Rare equals coveted, irrespective of quality. I think it's a shame it never made it out as a Nightlife era B-side, really. They must really not think anything of it to exclude it from the FLs too.

Or they think there’s still chance they might do more with it.
Woof.

For me it's the atmosphere. The melody and lyrics are neither here nor there, and Neil's vocals are... well, it's a demo. But there's a tone, a vibe, a certain plaintive middle-of-the-night yearning on back streets slicked down from a recent rain. You just know the narrator is wearing a trench coat. Someone used the word "ethereal" and I think that's exactly right. It just feels cool. I'm certain that would be lost in the re-record, since the song itself is just fine.

Yeah, it was me that said it’s ‘ethereal’ and you are right also, it’s all about the atmosphere - that ethereal atmosphere. I agree too..I think that feeling would be lost on a re-record. They definitely captured something on that demo. I like your description of the narrator wearing a trench coat. I imagined the same, it’s late at night, travelling on a ‘European train’ into the city..then walking down the rain soaked / neon lit streets to find the queue for the club. This probably coincided with the same narrator ‘walking down the high street in the middle of the night, something caught my eye and I nearly died of fright, crossed the road to whisper something secret in my ear and now I know I’ll never be the same again, oh dear!’ - I always imagined the stories in those 2 songs taking place in the same world - by the same narrator on the same night..a lonely figure, walking the streets late at night looking for someone and somewhere to go. The same person who gave up waiting for a certain someone to call them back because ‘you didn’t phone when you said you would’ and now, they leave the club ‘at dead of night, when strangers roam the streets in search of anyone who’ll take them home.

Hadn't realised this is an 88-minute programme. Great news!

Also, do we think we'll hear any snippets from the album?

Yes..pretty sure the camera crew were given access to the studio whilst recording took place.

This is bringing back memories of early 1992 and The South Bank Show which, until now, was probably the most extensive mainstream TV exposition of their art.

"Good evening, Stockholm, or such and such".
