Nightlight isn't a 2/5 album, imo. Over-stuffed, maybe, but not a dud.
I'd love to hear the alternative album version 'Nightlight'... :)
Agree with you though.

Indeed. I too noticed the overly generous valuations for the Yes and Electric box sets..

thanks for posting the scans.

i have some of the items on the list,

John Coleman needs to find a new job.

That discography is poorly put together with a number of errors

Not to mention that the Can You Forgive Her? promo photo is captioned as being from 2003.

It is of course completely subjective, but I would have ratings for Release and Elysium the opposite way round (four for Release two for Elysium) an extra star on Bilingual, and a star off Introspective and Super.

And add another star to Very

The first issue of Record Collector I bought was #110 from October 1988 with a full PSB discography in.

That was when I first learned about all the different versions of singles they'd released. I made it my mission to seek them all out.

I've ordered this issue, 36 years after buying my first issue🙂

Yes, what is up with with that Bilingual review? How dare he suggest that "It Always Comes As A Surprise" and "To Step Aside" sound flat??
Misunderstanding the concept I think.

Nightlife suffered from multi producers making it a non cohesive listen. One eye on the musical didn’t help either.

When Nightlife was released, John Earls reviewed it for Planet Sound, and he gave it something like 8/10. As I’ve never really been a fan of this album, this review has always been a reminder, not to get too excited when a good album review is given by a PSB fan.
