Just resurrecting this thread to mention Gaudio Studio again - it's an amazing AI tool that splits tracks into their component parts - guitar, piano, vocals, etc. Not perfect quality by any means, but really interesting. I'm finding it particularly interesting for Nonetheless. I uploaded Bullet For Narcissus, and lo and be hold, there's a lovely piano section running through the whole track with a lot more than just single block chords, and it's barely if at all audible within the mix. Worth a listen.

I agree. I did the whole album on Gaudio Studio as well and it sounds pretty good. I noted that there is a lot of piano on this album that is almost lost in the mix. Great to hear the backing singers clearer on some tracks as well. Not a fan of AI generally, but I love this tool.

100% - there's a lot of piano in there, including a lovely little run in The Secret Of Happiness. Yup, nice to hear backing singers and also Neil's harmonies more clearly.

Hotspot instrumental is well worth a listen.

Dreamland in particular sounds far grander without the vocals - almost has it's a sin choral sounds throughout it.

I'm starting to fee that Hotspot is somewhat underrated. If only they'd had a producer with better quality control (wedding in Berlin, burning the heather replaced by Decide and an open mind) it could be up there as one of their finest.

I've had good results using https://www.lalal.ai/ to make instrumentals and separate the parts. Discovered quite a few new details. Obviously there are a lot of tools like this out there now.

I created an instrumental of Nonetheless and while it's not perfect, I still find it enjoyable to hear some of the details that you might not notice when paying attention to the vocals. I do wish they would release official instrumental versions of all their albums. How about a box set...Pet Shop Boys: Instrumental

Interestingly enough, the revolution in AI could enable us to create our own instrumental versions of albums. We'll, when I say "us" I don't include myself as I've only just abandoned Windows 7

I've been using ultimate vocal remover which seems to work well. I'll have to check out Gaudio as well.

I just got hold of the Fundamental instrumentals and in general it's a very nice sounding album. The standout track is I'm with stupid which really has a lot of sounds and bass line that is hidden under the lyrics.
I Made My Excuses is more powerful with lyrics. The same goes for Minimal which was quite surprising for me.
