Hoping for a CD box, and a 7” box set of all singles that have not been released on 7”(Won’t happen)

If they have an eye for it don't just release the existing CD singles as replicas, add on all officially released, promo only release, downloads exclusive to a particular service (I'm looking at you Vocal), and maybe official, but currently unreleased mixes from a particular single, they aren't after the charts are they and should have enough space with 80 minutes per disc? Release all the early singles never before released as CD's, plus stuff like Burning the Heather. Just replicate the existing singles many already have them, this should be about collecting and curating.
And at the end/ Your funny Uncle staring / At all your friends / With military bearing

its way too ambitious, and many tracks WILL be missed out,
especially the promo mixes.

sure it could happen. and maybe even a cd set, but i highly doubt it,
until they release tracklistings or give people and idea.

i will say talk talk tried it and gave up. the human league are doing it,
but are still hit and miss with the mixes. for some groups, its just too much work.

Hopefully the boys will be highly involved and won't let them forget remixes. I don't think Human League are even involved much. Phil was surprised they were being released on digital.
Well, Neil denied the existence of This Must Be... (extended japanese mix) so don't be too sure they know what they're doing in terms of mixes.

Let’s be honest, someone who is looking for absolutely everything will manage to find something missing. Do we really need all of those terrible dubs, just for completists sake? This would be a chance for them to curate a tighter, revised set of core mixes.

But why release all the singles first and then a box set?

You are basically right but there are some omissions in the FL releases f i that need to be adjusted: YKWYWR (Rough mix) and This must be the place I waited years to leave (Japanese extended), Can you forgive her? (Swing version), Decadence (acoustic mix) and so on...

It sounds like the main project is to get everything onto streaming. And that a follow up boxset may happen in the future, but isn’t part of this project.

Well, with luck we’ll see them included as part of this streaming project.

There isn’t going to be unreleased official mixes. That’s never gonna happen with this project. This is about getting all of the singles onto streaming services exactly as they were all originally released. So that will be Opportunities’85 right up till whatever the first digital single was, with all tracks replicated as they were originally released. I do hope though that we get all foreign official mixes such as the Shep mixes for What have I done to deserve this? and the It’s a Sin mixes released in America - Vocal (Miami) mixes etc.

It'll be interesting to see what they do when they get to the singles that already have digital releases, as there's still many officially released tracks missing from these. Will they re-release complete "albums" including all the mixes and B-sides in one place?

For example, at the time of release on certain download stores, 'Flamboyant' came with 'West End Girls (DJ Hell Remix)' [8:45]. I downloaded this at the time, but it was only in that horrible protected Windows Media audio file format - so I'm unable to play it now I'm three laptops down the line, and it's no longer available digitally. Be great if that came out digitally again.

They should cram all the unreleased mixes to any digital/ cd releases, there is a lot of them. And release them in cd Box sets a la Please , Actually and so forth. Release the singles from Please on cd too, since they have never been released. Convinced there is a market for it.

if you're going to bother doing it.
include whatever you can. its not like its going to increase the cost or anything.

most of this stuff hasn't been released, and will never be released if not now.

if you're going to milk this project, get whatever you can in there.
people have been wanting these for quite awhile, and we've gotten a few tidbits
(like the suburbia arthur baker mixes) out too.

i've made my own listings for albums and mixes, and hopefully most of those will show up.
