There is some “ confusion” to wheather that includes sales Pre 1994, since the current chart compiler didn’t start before 1994, and sales pre that has always been a bit sketchy, but we can safely say that Discography has sold at least 600,000 copies in the U.K Congratulations is in order to Neil and Chris

Re: Certifications
West End Girls, has just been certified platinum in the U.K (600,000) this includes download sales and streaming.
But it does not include the physical sales, it achieved when it was released in 1985. So if you combined those sales, it is over 1 million in the U.K. The physical sales of West End girls was close to 700,000, when it was originally released

Re: Certifications
I guess this has a lot to do with how the most popular 80s and 90s singles are classified on streaming services, right? Once the top search results for West End Girls, Go West etc are the tracks on Smash, it'll just quietly keep racking up sales equivalent units by cannibalising the ones that would have gone to PopArt, Ultimate or even Discography. Though since the algorithm for album sales via streaming in the UK effectively discounts the two most popular tracks on a release, a compilation with more tracks is more likely to "sell" faster in this way, which particularly benefits Smash and PopArt over the other two.Disco. wrote: Fri 25 Oct 2024, 4:47 pm SMASH has ben certified silver by the BPI for sales of 60,000 copies in the U.K . Re: Certifications
Unfortunately it is not listed in "singles sold more than 1 million copies" list on Everyhit.com. It would be nice to see it. Presumably they are unaware of the latest stream figures.Shopper wrote: Tue 16 Apr 2024, 2:54 pmso a million sellerDisco. wrote: Sat 27 May 2023, 11:49 am West End Girls, has just been certified platinum in the U.K (600,000) this includes download sales and streaming.
