Probably showing my age here, but I'm getting Reginald Perrin vibes with the CD cover..

That aside, this is indeed a very welcome surprise and Feel sounds so open and spacey on the radio, particularly on this summer, sunny afternoon..😎

Awful video.
Great sleeve with so many things to wonder about!!!!! Why the open doors? Why nobody around? Suicide maybe?
And then the video spoils the fun.

I was thinking this could have been a Twenty something part 2. Where the wife goes to see her husband in jail.

(But then I remembered I saw somewhere the guy from twenty something video is actually in jail)

Update after a couple listens:

Overall I think is above average, though Loneliness remix is useless. Radio edit is welcomed, it's very well cut.
Another masterclass in minimal techno by Superchumbo, which I think is the stand-out of the single.
Nice bizzarre weird touch with Chris singing in German. The bside is cute too.
Again, over average. Good single.

PD: Missing 12" singles. Imagine how those picture sleeves for all the singles from nonetheless would look like on 12". To hang on the wall.
I'm still hoping for a set of 12" releases...I will be all over that if they do it.
Each one coming with an exclusive classic PSB extended mix of the title track... yea I know but we can dream!
I Like Release!

Some parts are very difficult to understand:

Es ist ohne Glück zu trauen
In haselnussbraun, schwarz und braun
Singe stattdessen fröhliche Lieder
Wenn der Winter kommt

Glühwein, Wurst und Sauerkraut
Sonne und Sangria
Wir rasen auf einem Schnellboot
Wir fahren nach Shangri-La

Die Zukunft ist die Gegenwart
Musik muss gespielt werden
Es ist Weihnachten oder Sommer
In der Schlager Hitparade

Sexy, sexy, sexy
Gesunde Mädchen und Jungen
Hochzeiten sind wie Weihnachten
Wir können uns alle freuen

Die Zukunft ist die Gegenwart
Musik muss gespielt werden
Es ist Weihnachten oder Sommer
In der Schlager Hitparade

Never trust a leader
It probably won't end well
The leader of the band
He knows what he won‘t tell

The future is the presence
We all regret the past
Cheers to Europa
Let‘s hope it’s gonna last

Lachen und vergessen
Weshalb ich immer warten würde (?)
Die Vergangenheit ist mir passiert
In der Schlager Hitparade

Die Zukunft ist die Gegenwart
Musik muss gespielt werden
Es ist Weihnachten oder Sommer
In der Schlager Hitparade

Personally, I think the video is perfect for Feel. I didn't expect it to be a retelling or recreation of the story with George Blake and his wife given the creative changes Neil has made to the lyrics and narrative (the narrator being a man for example), divorcing it from the original inspiration. The video encapsulates perfectly the theme and feeling of the song of escapism and yearning, with the two in the car trading looks and glances ("Sometimes a look speaks more than you say"), with a sort of nervousness and tension that builds until they reach the beach and excitedly get out of the car. I love that it captures the emotions and feelings within the song's lyrics and Neil's voice than specifically the lyrical narrative itself. I love as well that the song and the subtle looks and glances carry the romantic theme and the close-ups make it feel intimate and special and close.

Feel is the right final single for this album. It brings everything full circle from Loneliness and touches on the romantic, longing theme of the album that the other singles didn't fully touch on.

I'm delighted we're getting a fourth "proper" single for the first time since 1997 and "Feel" was the most likely candidate in my book. The single edit is the usual mutilated compromise, although not the worst - it's a strong enough track to survive such butchering. The b-side reminds me of It's not a crime. It's OK but I really want something a bit different after three similar sounding tracks. The remixes are reasonably good, but will have to listen again. As for the demo...well, this is something a bit different! Nice to have. Overall, a decent package but not the best of the era.

The video is, naturally, shite.

I like the video and the song. Great song as a single. i rather like the b side, everybody will dance is not bad (especially the instrumental part with the trumpet, it's brillant). Schlager is funny, i think with the album version you lose this kraftwerk feeling, they should have let it in german on the album, i like the robotic feeling it has.
Great surprise, i really didn't expect this, there were no annoucement (if i'm not mistaken because i see there were a countdown video ?).

I wonder why in the video at the end, they close the car's door, then right after, the doors are open (like on the sleeve).

I like the messages during the journey, brillant idea.

I wonder if the open doors are some gay code. The two washing machines in My beautiful laundrette were both open too and those protagonists' journey ended in similar fashion. Given the unquestionable sanctity of all things gay, we really all ought to mug up on the symbolism of it all, as it may be terribly important at the next job interview.

The big disappointment for me is I was looking forward to an old-school extended mix of “Feel” which is sadly lacking.
i like the remixes and the b-sides...

as far as a remix of 'feel' goes.. made one here..
its the 2nd track in the megamix...

Why? I mean, why would someone make comments like this? What's the purpose?

If I remember correctly “The one I want” became “You are the one” on “Hotspot.” Also, if I remember correctly, “Happy people” was also written during the “Super” sessions along with “Wedding in Berlin.” The “Super” sessions are the gift that keeps on giving but they’re getting close to running out of “Super” tracks. By my count they’ve released 25 of them between “Super”, the “Super” single b-sides, “Hotspot”, the “Lost” ep, and “Nonetheless” b-sides and bonus tracks. Maybe four more to go?

Very impressed with this release; was hopeful but didn't at all expect a fourth single. And my favourite album track to boot! The edit will take some time to get used to, but to me it's not as jarring as some other recent edits (Twenty-Something, Monkey Business).

Love the b-sides, not a huge fan of the remixes but I reckon the Loneliness remix will grow on me. If this is the last single from the album (again fingers crossed for a fifth but perhaps that's too much to ask) then I think it's ended the campaign extremely well.
I'm here. You're there.
