Last night, I watched this film in bed with my headphones on whilst my wife slept next to me. I only intended on watching the first 10 minutes or so to see if I’d like it. I ended up watching the whole film through! I couldn’t stop watching. As a straight guy I thought the film wouldn’t connect with me. But it very much did. I had tears rolling down my face during a few scenes, particularly when Adam was in bed talking to his mum, when his mum was singing Always on my mind to him and the restaurant scene at the end.

Beautiful film and of course I loved that Adam watches the TOTP repeats and listens to NOW 10, just as I do too. I loved the Xmas 1987 scene with TOTP and Always on my mind playing, took me right back to when I was 15. Great to hear I Want a Dog also in the club scene! Brilliant.

And the director is a massive Pets fan.

Yes, I watched it online, it’s out there but I shall be supporting it when it’s released digitally, absolutely! What a great film. And I loved Haigh quoting BB too!

Watched it yesterday, as it only got to Spain now. I'm heartbroken and devastated, such a sad story. For me PSB music was central to the movie. I want a dog appeareance was unexpected, Always on my mind really felt like the pivotal song for the familiar theme, even if it wasn't the final scene with the parents it felt like it thanks to the music.

Finally got around to watching this tonight. Didn't need tissues as I expected, but it did resonate on an emotional level both as a son (of the same era) and a parent, and was surprising. Spoilers!

Definitely needs a rewatch.

It becomes quite central because of the timing around Christmas. There are other bands given prominence, but it's clear the director felt PSB were important!

I can't listen to The Power Of Love by Frankie Goes To Hollywood without feeling really sad now.
