Cynical as I am, I'd love to think that the Mirror wouldn't have succumbed to the lure. Also, who am I kidding.... it's definitely being used in a lot of press releases.

What a pity, I think many of us would love the idea of an euphoric and orchestral new album.

Sorry Nickname, but what do you consider euphoric? I ask because the Boys have a very specific definition of "euphoria," and I don't think yours matches theirs. Also, that quote is paraphrasing what Neil said about Nonetheless in multiple interviews, so the "euphoric and orchestral album" is Nonetheless.

Except "Dancing Star" and "Schlager Hit Parade" in some way, the other songs are not euphoric.

From where I was in the arena, at the back of the standing area with other people's phones in front of my face, it looked like N&C were little stick figures in the middle of giant christmas tree snow globes. The sound quality was really good. I had forgotten that there was going to be a live orchestra and couldn't see owt, so it didn't occur to me that the orchestra sounds weren't electronic. The live strings must surely have been amplified as the orchestra was chamber sized by the looks of things. The whole question about choice of songs is a bit meh - newest single which is fast and catchy and first single which also happens to be an iconic hit, was fine. The performance was great, arrangements great, orchestra great, visuals (by all accounts) great, everyone around me enjoyed it except for the few who left; job done.

euphoria
/juːˈfɔːrɪə/ • noun
a feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness.

Nonetheless is not euphoric no matter how they wish to define it. Certain tracks yes, maybe a couple at best. Euphoric is Vocal, Left to my own devices, Always on my mind, Heart, A Different Point Of View, Go West, Liberation - Very is a euphoric album. Nonetheless is MOR at best.

What is "excitement" and "happiness" though? That's very subjective. If you want to play by the dictionary then check the associated words to excitement: intrigued, absorbed, engaged. Or what about the words related to happiness: fulfillment, joyful. Come on, that kind of answer you gave was very fifth grade English homework, let's do some deep thinking for a second.

Nice reply. I'm not going down a dictionary rabbit hole and there's no need for deep thinking. It's a case of does the album grab you or not. Nonetheless doesn't grab me because in my opinion it's fairly bland. Very does because it's anything but bland. Simple as that. If people love Nonetheless and think it's euphoric then good for them :)

Are we talking about the lyrics or about the music?, an uptempo song is not euphoric.
