It would be very intersting to hear Stuarts take on it as the James Ford production is already the PSB Please sound turned up to 11. It was Please and Disco that got Stuart into synths and PSB so it would be good to hear what he would do with the most '1986' sounding PSB song since that period. Unfortunately I can't see it being released anytime soon (if ever) now the Nonetheless era is coming to an end. Shame.

I took the time this weekend to listen to the bonus and demos discs and I'm quite happy with this release.
The demos are good and it's interesting to compare them with the final tracks. Most of the JF produced tracks are quite close to the demos. But I like what he did with the songs and I am among those who think he was the right producer for Nonetheless.
The only track I might prefer as a demo is "Why Am I Dancing?". I'm not sure though.
As this is the first full demos album to be available for PSB, we tend to question the choice of the producer for the final tracks in hindsight. And I don't think it's fair. If we had had such an oppotunity with previous albums, we might have done the same and disavowed the likes of Trevor Horn, Xenomania, Stuart Price, Craig Armstrong, Chris Zippel, David Morales, Harold Faltermeyer, Andrew Dawson and who knows else...
I for one am very glad James Ford produced this album. After three Stuart Price albums in a row, his sound is quite refreshing and I find it to be on point with PSB music.

The demos have me thinking that the Furthermore EP is sounding similar and that Heart, Being Boring, Always On my Mind and It's A Sin should have beared the name "new demos" instead of "new versions".
And I think it would have been more consistent to release Nonetheless demos and Furthermore together, and Nonetheless and the new tracks on the bonus disc together, instead of the way it has been packaged for release.

There are so many options potentially in the way we would like to have things released, the Boys can't please everybody all of the time!

I'm digging the WMID demo to the album version now, it's a full on banger. The album version, feels a wee subdued.

There is something very quirky about Adrenaline, I would have liked that on the main album actually, which I felt was a little short and needed more dancey bits

I like Adrenaline, but... Every time I listen to it I can't help thinking of Axis and how it pales in comparison. Axis is adrenaline sculpted sound. I think Adrenaline needed more punch and Neil's voice needed something extra, given the title of the song. I always loved how you could feel that magnificent manufactured texture they somehow achieved with his voice. Someone coined here some years ago the term "God Neil voice". That is missing in the James Ford era.

It’s kind of fluff… pedestrian… but I really love that sort of breakdown section in the middle of the song where it becomes an instrumental and it’s very lush. but I do agree the music doesn’t fit the song title.

I just had another thought though… Since the dawning of AI vocal processing, technically Chris, if he wanted could sing using Neil’s voice.

Listened to the rest of the demos - it is a mixed bag but generally wishing that James Ford had struck a better balance between the demos and what ultimately became Nonetheless...there's some amazing stuff in the demos that is either gone or completely buried in the final versions.

It just seems rather pedestrian.
