Unless the woman with the headband made out or flashy lights (bottom right, just behind the mosh pit) booked the same seat for all five nights (possible, I know) then it might have been the Saturday as I remember seeing the lights of the headband bopping up and down).

I was a bit bummed about the ROH tour fans selling out so quickly but was able to pick one up through the online store so it’s on its way.

It has arrived and it is heavenly! Good timing to because it's bloody hot in LA right now!

So, we've just gotten word that the Dreamworld tour will continue through 2025.
With dates to be announced for Europe and UK.

What are our thoughts on this?


It's important to break down what this means.
The Dreamworld Tour has evolved since it's inception.
The setlist has had Paninaro added, complete with screen visuals. And newer singles Loneliness and Dancing Star
were added.

Promo images and posters have changed from a silhouette of N&C, to them in the tuning fork masks,
and now it seems the Nonetheless photo is being used.

This obviously means a possible continuation. New merch and fresh addition(s) to the setlist.
Maybe New London Boy? It is the 3rd most streamed Nonetheless song after Loneliness and Dancing Star.

Personally I'm a little surprised they're continuing this tour, especially with the Blu-Ray release.
And it doesn't appear to be new countries or locations. Australia is still left behind.
They've already done 31 Dreamworld concerts for the UK. I don't really see why they need to keep going.
I suppose if it sells, it sells. But for a fan like me living elsewhere in the world it seems like favoritism.
I'm hoping 2025 will have other surprises, whether it's new music and projects being worked on quietly or
something else being released or reissued. With this tour I do worry about this year being forgettable in PSB fandom,
with the boys focusing their energy on touring these places again.
Personally I had my fill of Dreamworld in 2022. 2023 was okay but not as exciting, and the concert movie being shown in theatres in 2024 seemed like a good send off.

I guess the musical is working out to be expensive?

I'll wait to see what the venues are. Last year was such a blast and felt like it ended on a (soggy) high but I feel a bit of fatigue at this stage and I am just about done with outdoor gigs after a couple of bad experiences with the weather.

I mean you can't blame them - if promoters are offering them money why not sweat the asset that is the Dreamworld Tour! They seem to enjoy it.

And there is apparently an audience (which is all good for the PSB brand etc)

The actual incremental cost of them doing more dates must be pretty small at this point if we assume the setup cost of the tour has recouped so it's all cash to fund future projects and/or their retirement! I also bet like most "capex" things the cost of designing and mounting a new tour (set design, visuals, programming, costumes, equipment, all the health and safety and logistic planning etc etc) will have gone up a lot in recent years so why not push that cost out for a bit if there is commercial life in the old Dreamworld dog yet!

There's a sense of finality about all this don't you think? Touring like mad until...what?

I'd even be in two minds about going if it was right here on my doorstep in Canada to be honest. Unity gave me enough of a taste of what to expect, and although it would be nice to checkmark a few songs I've not seen live before off my list, I'd rather watch the BluRay and have this all be done now.

I guess by touring in EU and UK they are still "home" and can continue to write and record. Something that's a little less easy to do on another continent.

Maybe they have enough songs in the bag that an album is already well in the works, so they can do more touring without concern...

So many possibilities.

I'm not surprised they are continuing with Dreamworld. It's an easy and the smart concept to promote as an active heritage band: a greatest hits spectacular.

The days of a tour like Performance are long gone. Now, it's as much nostalgia as art - and this is Champions League-level nostalgia, with enough art to act as a fig leaf for the naked commercialism at play. I have no issue with this at all. It's a glorious show.

I think it's incredible that they can still play such huge, prestigious venues nearly 35 years after Performance. Who knows, if they come to the right one, I might even go and see them again.

They’re making hay whilst the sun shines and good luck to them. I saw “Dreamworld” in Brighton back in June 2023. It’s hard to believe that’s already over a year and a half ago. To be honest I didn’t enjoy it as much as I expected to, but that was probably more about how I was feeling on the night than any problem with the show.

As I missed out on the ROH tickets last year I might be tempted again, although it’s not exactly an inexpensive night out nowadays…

I am amazed that they can still tour the same show in the same venues year after year. Festivals make sense as you're playing to a disparate group of people who mostly haven't specially come to see you. However, apart from the omnipresent celebrities like Walliams and hardcore Petheads who attend every performance, who on earth hasn't seen this yet? It was scheduled pre-Covid! It's like people buying a Christmas single in March.
