I just found this rather good cover version of It's a Sin by Belgian singer Liliane St. Pierre (sung in Dutch).

Good cover? IMO that's more a karaoke version.wieske wrote: Wed 23 Jul 2025, 7:14 pm https://youtu.be/_iFFlLjgXk0?si=3SwuOLjppYCc6UJ4

There's much cringe to be had here... I don't know this woman, but the way she sings sounds she's from the 60s singing the local schlagers ("levensliederen"). Which is OK, but doesn't fit the music style imho.
Musically, they've done a good job.
But the lyrics... this is not a translation of the song but now it's someone who asks herself if she made the right choices in life. Nothing about the religious dogmas the original is known for. Kudos though for translating It's a sin to Heeft het zin.

I’m afraid that I didn’t click to listen. Pet Shop Boys have written hundreds of amazing songs, but people keep wanting to cover this one. It’s not very inspired.

She also covered In Private years ago, so I give her de benefit of the doubt.TallThinMan wrote: Thu 24 Jul 2025, 6:26 pm I’m afraid that I didn’t click to listen. Pet Shop Boys have written hundreds of amazing songs, but people keep wanting to cover this one. It’s not very inspired.

Sounds like her Eurovision entry Soldiers of love from 1987 when she represented Belgium. It was a spectacular performance, used the stages capacity to max, all the lasers and special effects.
Awesome she's a Psb fan.
