Is shipping a % of the sale because it shows shipping to Canada at nearly $300? A 7" from UK to Canada would probably cost $30 max...maybe $70 if you white glove it with FedEx. That shipping cost alone would scare me away.

So, this is the problem when people use Ebay's Global Shipping Program, which is what I'm assuming the buyer is using. I don't know if many U.S. sellers use this, but I've seen this used by sellers out of the UK. If you are bidding on an item from a seller in the UK and they use International Priority Shipping via eBay's Global Shipping Program, DO NOT automatically pay for the item. Contest the shipping charge.

For example, fairly recently I won an item from a seller in the UK who uses the International Priority Shipping to United States via eBay's Global Shipping Program. The item up for auction started out at 60 UK pounds and the shipping was showing around 20 something UK pounds. At the end of the auction, the item went for over 200 UK pounds (yes, I paid thru the nose for this item, but I wanted it) and the shipping cost in the end was listed as 106 UK pounds. It went up exponentially! I contacted the buyer about this and told him that sending a vinyl record from the UK to the U.S. costs maybe 22 UK pounds at most, not 106 pounds. After a bit of back and forth, he went to the post office the next day to get an estimate on how much it would cost to send internationally by Royal Mail. He then cancelled the original auction and then relisted it with the much more reasonable shipping cost added in. I should add that I bought it when he made the correction.

So, keep this in mind before you decide to go straight through and pay when winning something from a seller in the UK that uses that Global Shipping Program. It's strange that the shipping charge increased with how high the sold price went.

Ahh, OK, I'm not a huge user of eBay (to the extent that I'm not sure I even remember my login information ) so didn't know that was a "thing". I assume that was implemented for people who couldn't be bothered trying to figure out how much it would cost to send stuff, but the formula does go a bit haywire once you get into big money.

However, It is my experience that it costs more and takes longer. I also have negotiated shipping charges outside of eBay with the seller, but this actually violates eBay rules and eBay messenger will flag any discussion that includes certain words and phrases related to shipping charges, email or physical addresses. I really wanted the factory sealed items, so I just accepted the fact that I am getting exactly what I want in excellent condition and was willing to pay.

Well, my issue was that the shipping on the item I was watching increased exponentially as the bidding price went up. That doesn't make sense, right? Why would it go from, say 20 UK pounds up to over 100? Nothing is changing. In the end, the buyer cancelled the item I won and then relisted it with Royal Mail shipping charges, so I saved a lot of money.

Ditto - if I really have to ship to a UK address I have the ability to do that and then get it forwarded at a more sensible cost.

Received mine here in NYC today - pretty fast but packaging wasn’t great - still, the 7” survived ok. I had also ordered Behaviour in the new digisleeve and must admit that it looks pretty good! Now I have to decide if I really want to spend money on the other five….

I couldn't say if they sold less than the 300 or manufactured a % more.

However this is exactly what happened with the Hacienda themed limited Eastwood Hooky Bass VI Pro's. There were 51 made (to honour the Hacienda's Factory number FAC51), but they built an extra 8 which they held for possible damages to the first 51 sold. Later (like years after) they sold these remaining ones "as is". I am proud owner of two of them now - one from the original run and the second I bought in that second drop.
