Re: Obscure Pet Shop Boys - New Live shows
Same here. I received an email from Volume thanking me for my order and providing me with the same link to register as is shown on the website.
I clicked to register and they confirmed a code will be sent at 3pm on Tuesday.
I only expect there to be one code sent as is the same with all of these offers. It’s a marketing ploy to get you to buy the book (technically the presale is exclusive - just to clickers of the link rather than buyers of the book). Frustratingly hey can’t do the latter due to the legal position.

I have only received purchase confirmation e-mail where there was no mention of pre-sale. I had to register from a separated link (as most of you, I guess) and then received a confirmation that a I am successfully registered.Pinhead44 wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 7:50 am
Gabby,
I received an e-mail direct from 'Volume' because I purchased the limited book from them, that provided a link to register for the presale tickets.
I then also clicked on the 'no purchase required' link and going though either way brought you to same page to register, and then received a separate e-mail from 'pet shop boys @ parlophone' confirming the priority ticket access.
I've been around the world for a number of reasons. I've seen it all the change of seasons, and I, my lord, may I say nothing?
Re: Obscure Pet Shop Boys - New Live shows
It should have read:Dog wrote: Wed 12 Nov 2025, 8:44 pm Do you think the text should have read:
"Fans who pre-order Volume via the official Pet Shop Boys store will also receive priority ticket access to the recently announced Obscure Pet Shop Boys concerts at London's Electric Ballroom in April. Please note that the ticket access offer is also available to people that do not buy the book." ?
"We are releasing a book [etc]"
"We are having a concert, sign up here for early ticket access"
Two seperate things, if there is legal involved. The way they're collated to two is odd.
All a bit unnecessary because the books were always going to be popular.

Re: Obscure Pet Shop Boys - New Live shows
Limiting the tickets to two per person is not a bad move. If they could limit it to one night only and bring in a pre-question (like what’s the fifth word on the second line on the twelfth page of literally issue three) that’ll weed out the tourist fans.
is is and isnt isnt
Re: Obscure Pet Shop Boys - New Live shows
I’m really hoping it is max 2 tickets across all five nights … 2/5 if you will
This anxiety is real

you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

I did quip during those heady days of the PSB teaset that PSB were turning into KISS with their merchandising techniques.dbaseboy wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 7:30 am I had the limited edition book in my basket but on completing check out an error message came up. Tbh I’m not upset just disappointed with the whole experience as others have said. I’m now at the stage where I’m still and will be forever, totally into the music, but going to stop being sucked into the merchandising hype. It’s too stressful trying to obtain, let alone then seeing items for sale at extortionate prices almost immediately afterwards.
A year or so on, and I'm starting to wonder if that isn't closer to the truth than I realised.

I get what you mean #pensiontoppers. I saw a post on FB where a fan was arguing the point that Boys don’t rip off fans, and do agree to a point. I guess it’s the way it is nowadays but getting too old to play teenage fandom games. Long live the music though.Gabby wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 12:05 pmI did quip during those heady days of the PSB teaset that PSB were turning into KISS with their merchandising techniques.dbaseboy wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 7:30 am I had the limited edition book in my basket but on completing check out an error message came up. I guess you'll find out if they come on stage wearing full face make-up.Gabby wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 12:05 pmI did quip during those heady days of the PSB teaset that PSB were turning into KISS with their merchandising techniques.dbaseboy wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 7:30 am I had the limited edition book in my basket but on completing check out an error message came up. Yes, I did. But I understand that there is no need to worry about any extra privileges. We are all equal on 19th of November.

Look at the Hymn 'single'. That's something I have no interest in ever hearing (because the idea is so cringey) yet it's on sale for a ridiculous amount on ebay. Guys, you used to be about the music.Gabby wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 12:05 pm

Re: Obscure Pet Shop Boys - New Live shows
I would have picked up a copy if I could have (although I don't as a general rule buy PSB 7" singles unless that is the only option to have a new track). I've come to terms with it though as Hymn isn't particularly good, irrespective of the thinking behind its existence.Patrick Bateman wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 2:54 pmLook at the Hymn 'single'. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be. Let's face it, yesterday's debacle pretty much showed the level of care being taken over this - it'll be a free for all.rashomon wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 8:46 am I’m really hoping it is max 2 tickets across all five nights … 2/5 if you will

I personally think they should have done a ballot/lottery type thing with people asked to pick 2 of the 5 dates
but i imagine tht would have been a bugger to organise

They still are. It's not like there haven't been rare items since the 1980s. The complaining is cringey.Patrick Bateman wrote: Thu 13 Nov 2025, 2:54 pmLook at the Hymn 'single'.
