'New London Boy' was part of the double A-side with 'All the young dudes', so shouldn't be eligible, even though Dudes got all the attention and radio play. Similarly, we shouldn't get 'How can you expect to be taken seriously?', although it would be cool to reprise its Performance outing.
Well yes, but NLB (like Feel) hasn't seen a live outing and could be counted as a "fan favorite". Plus it's Neil's pet song from Nonetheless. He's very proud of it.

I'm willing to be proved wrong though. I think they've probably got most of the songs picked out already. Gotta start early with those arrangements.
For your own good, call me tonight.

The only thing obscure is how many time this charecter has appeared in his lyrics. The same formula has been repeteated quite many times. Imagine Neil singing leave me alone and don't ever call me again you useless t*** for a chance.

Sure he's had to occasionaly IRL.

Get Along and I Don't Know What You Want are the sounds of a man moving on, but we do get the impression in both cases he'd happily return in a heart beat!

I think you're right? ... Neil has never penned a "NEVER going back" love song?

This is about ''Feel'' if I've followed the thread correctly.

It's certainly one for the Boys to be proud of.

I think their most innovative production were many of the b-sides this time around. 'Feel' and the rest of the album Nonetheless we heard before. Lovely stuff, but no reason to perform it live.

My setlist that has been 40 years in the making! And let's hope we get Helena Springs as there's some heavy lifting in the backing vocal dept across these songs.

A few Chris lead vocals too:

A man could get arrested
You know where you went wrong
Willo the wisp
How I learned to hate rock and roll
A new life
The boy who couldn’t keep his clothes on
I get excited (you get excited too)
A Face like that
The survivors
I’ve got plans (involving you)
Young offender
Flamboyant
Up and down / no excuses
An open mind
I want to wake up
This used to be the future - with guest Phil Oakey or Bernard Sumner
Lies
The resurrectionist
Paninaro
Jack the lad

I want a lover
Up against it
Shameless
in suits or sequins/or twin sets and pearls

My dream setlist (without including brilliant rarely played singles 'DJ culture', 'How can you expect to be taken seriously?' and 'Feel') sorted by era would be:

Please

- Later tonight
- Jack the lad

Actually

- It couldn't happen here

Introspective

- Your funny uncle

Behaviour

- This must be the place I waited years to leave
- Miserablism

Very

- The theatre
- Too many people

Bilingual

- Discoteca (original album version instead of the failed attempts at single versions)
- Up against it

Release

- You choose
- I didn't get where I am today
- Always
- We're the Pet Shop Boys (the obvious opening song)

Fundamental

- I made my excuses and left
- The resurrectionist

Yes

- Building a wall (full song)
- This used to be the future

Elysium

- Breathing space
- A certain 'Je ne sais quoi'
- In slow motion

Electric

- Bolshy

Super

- Wiedersehen
- The dead can dance

Agenda/Hotspot

- The forgotten child
- Will-o-the-wisp

Nonetheless

- Through you

Honourable mentions to these songs cut to not exceed a running time of 2 hours and 27 songs (the number Chris Lowe selected for his old rarities setlist): Betrayed, Radiophonic, Boy strange, We're all criminals now, Kaputnik

Honourable mentions to these songs cut because I already saw them live: Do I have to?, Only the wind, Fugitive

Actually, the Obscure shows would be a great opportunity to have Johnny Marr perform on several of the tracks that feature him on the studio versions:

- This must be the place I waited years to leave
- Up against it
- You choose
- I didn't get where I am today

Started out with a 54 song long list and have 'narrowed' it down to 28.
This is impossible (they're going to need some medleys)

Was That What It Was?
Jack The Lad
A New Life
It Must Be Obvious
Bet She's Not Your Girlfriend
Music For Boys
Miserablism
Your Funny Uncle
We All Feel Better In The Dark
Tonight Is Forever
It Couldn't Happen Here
King's Cross
I Want A Dog (Introspective)
This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave
Young Offender
The Truck Driver And His Mate
Up Against It
The Samurai In Autumn
A Certain Je Ne Sai Quoi
The Way It Used To Be
The Last To Die
Will-O-The-Wisp
An Open Mind
Decide
Party In The Blitz
The Dark End Of The Street
It's Not a Crime

Have excluded any songs played more than 50 times according to here

https://www.setlist.fm/stats/pet-shop-b ... 6ae70.html

Bar King's Cross (80) and The Way It Used To Be (57) which get an exemption.

Too many to choose from and no doubt some that may not be top of our lists. Plus can’t see Chris going any vocal duties. That said I really really hope they include;

Music for boys (opener?)
That’s my impression 🤞🏻
I get excited 🤞🏻
Violence 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Occupy your mind
Miserablism
Forever in love
You know where you went wrong
I want a lover
In the club or in the queue (as can’t imagine them ever doing or releasing Bubadubadum).

More older material I know but it’d be great to have that feeling of what it was like seeing them when they first started out.

A 45 minute extended version of Miserere, followed by The Sound of the Atom Splitting Sleaford Mods remix.

I haven't constructed the entire set list in my head just yet, but: 'Nervously' would be an untraditional but stunning opening, I think 😏😎🎶🧡

Actually it would fit quite good with 'Music for boys' as the instrumental opening (as I expect it to be because of the recent teaser reel video from PSB) ... but if they chose 'Nervously' as the opening, and then went on with 'Music for boys', it would fit seamlessly!

Check out the outro sounds of 'Nervously' and the intro sounds of 'Music for boys' 😎🔉🎶

'New London Boy' was part of the double A-side with 'All the young dudes', so shouldn't be eligible, even though Dudes got all the attention and radio play. Similarly, we shouldn't get 'How can you expect to be taken seriously?', although it would be cool to reprise its Performance outing.
Have they ever performed live a version of How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously that's been done Behaviour-style, rather than Brothers In Rhythm style? That wouldn't seem out of place.

Retro. :)
No, they've never performed it Behaviour-style as far as I know.

What isn't clear is whether they will have a full band for these gigs (Release tour style), or will go very minimal/electronic purist, with just the two of them on stage + Gleadall backstage. That decision might dramatically affect the choice of tracks.
Love comes quickly, but is a catastrophe and a bourgeois construct etc.
