Re: Obscure setlist - the Community Consensus
A new life is one of their finest b sides.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

Remember walking into their first 1989 tour gigs and hearing 'The Sound of the Atom splitting' booming around. Sounded so good in the raw. Maybe kick off the shows with a similar vibe, Music for Boys or We All Feel Better in the Dark

Re: Obscure setlist - the Community Consensus
The big question is how many tracks will be ānever performed live beforeā. I only bring this up as a number of the favourites people want in Obscure have been preformed before.
How many do we think will be never performed before?
Half? 3 quarters?

Re: Obscure setlist - the Community Consensus
They said "many" which, in all fairness, is quite unnumbered. Three quarters would be nice, half is more realistic. Maybe it will be around two third or something.
A blues would be in B flat, pain defining wisdom,
but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

Re: Obscure setlist - the Community Consensus
If there is some release project, then I think that "never performed live before" will be less than half.

Re: Obscure setlist - the Community Consensus
In Literaally 32, February 2008, Chris gave his own list.
Chris: I would like to go and see a show of ours where we didn't do any of the hits though.
Actually I did a playlist of it the other day - it's really good. Everything I liked that's not a single.
[He subsequently supplies a copy of this playlist.
It reads: "Tonight is forever", "The survivors",
"To face the truth", "Do I have to?",
"To step aside", "The Resurrectionist",
"Fugitive", "Up against it", "Your funny uncle",
"King's Cross", "Only the wind", "It couldn't happen here", "Casanova in Hell",
"The theatre", "Happiness is an option",
"It always comes as a surprise", "Jack the lad",
"To speak is a sin", "My October symphony",
"One and one make five", "The Samurai in autumn", "Love is a catastrophe",
"Later tonight", "Why don't we live together?"
"Forever in love" and "If love were all".
As an encore: "One thing leads to another".
Chris further notes that he imagines such a set
"being performed with full orchestra and band at the Albert Hall or similar".]

Re: Obscure setlist - the Community Consensus
How about this for a set list?
1. Axis
2. Opportunities (Reprise)
3. The Samurai in Autumn
4. God Willing
5. KDX 125
6. The Way Through The Woods
7. Entschuldigung!
8. Johnny's Dark Side
9. My Head Is Spinning
10. Beautiful Laundrette
11. In Bits
12. One Hit Wonder
13. Johnny's Theme
14. Clean Air Hybrid Electric Bus
15. The White Dress
16. A Cloud In A Box
17. The Man Who Has Everything
18. We Came From Outer Space
19. Miserere
20. Night Sings (Popa's Theme)
Neil could "forget" to show up and you could still have a full show with Chris only.
Only a few Neil lyrics have to be played - think stuff like the lyrics in Axis and similar.

Re: Obscure setlist - the Community Consensus
I didn't read beyond the first two songs. You're suggesting they do the exact same opening songs they've already done in previous tours. Electric tour opened with Axis, Dreamworld tour had Opportunities 3rd.the8thark wrote: Sat 21 Feb 2026, 12:39 am How about this for a set list?

This is the Obscure show. They need to do songs like Clean Air Hybrid Electric Bus and Don Juan.
