Some fans say they felt too fancy, too superior — like there was a wall there. PSB in their own elite world, the listener left outside. That was the feeling I got from the video: Pet Shop Boys supremacy. Not arrogance, but real superiority.

WHy would that come as a surprise? Listen to the lyrics from 85-90. They're not particularly low brow. They've only got one simple "I love you - you love me"-song: Heart. The other stuff definately leaves the listener on the outside until the listener gets it. Anyway. Seriously was not a flop. PSB made it a flop by ignoring it in their discography.

I don't understand why you say that. Although Seriously was supposed to be a double A-side, we all know that the A-side and the song that propelled that single was Where The Streets.

Anyway, judging by how often they've performed it live, they clearly seem to prefer Was It Worth It.

Was it worth it is also a vastly better song and pointed towards where PSB were heading in a way nothing else on Discography did. That mix of Seriously would have been the weakest track on the collection if they'd included it.

I love the single version of "Seriously," but I don't think it's a song meant to be a single or included on a greatest hits album. I think it fits much better as an album track, and it's great that some people, like me, love it, while others love it much less, or perhaps not at all.

I was racking my brain because I was convinced I had that mix but I don't buy 7" vinyl, so lightbulb moment was I must have had it on cassette single, back just before I had a CD player.

I likely sold it for 50p at a car boot sale before moving to Canada.
