So that’s just under two years’ worth of touring in a forty three year career. That’s called pacing yourself. :D

People who haven’t seen PSB for several years often comment that they’ve held up remarkably well, especially Neil’s voice, and that probably has a lot to do with not spending all their time slogging from continent to continent until they hated each other. As much as we love to see them live….

How many of those, do you reckon?

Has this topic been discussed here earlier? If you would have asked me 15-20 years ago, I would have guessed that quite a lot of the vocals were prerecorded but I never really took the time to compare different concerts etc so it was just a guess, but the last ten or so years I have felt that the vocals really are live but I don’t have any proof :)

Has anyone here digged deeper into this?

I think the live-vocal tuning technology has really gave them confidence to enjoy touring.

Unfair to call it auto-tuning, but it's definitely some smoothing involved

It doesn’t really matter
'cause the music is so loud
Of course it’s all on tape
but no one will find out
Shot in the fatal cause 'of frock-and-droll'

It's an ongoing subject in other forums, artists "faking" it. That is, artists appearing as if it's live (Eagles, ZZ Top, T Swift) where it's in fact pre recorded vocals. Pet Shop Boys have never claimed to be "live" so in this case it's not as if somebody can scream "fake" with full blown lungs. But still....

They were a studio's pop duo but now they are more related to live shows.
