Saw the last night as well as Wednesday

There can't be many bands insisting on releasing a hidden back catalogue on the flip sides of their (60+) singles and then playing different sets each night. I'm almost boring myself (which sounds like a PSB or Morrissey song) talking about it, but I'm still recovering from Johnny Marr playing on two of my fav songs (Up against it and I didn't get where I am today) , and last night hearing Miserablism and Bet. she's not your girlfriend.

To have spent it with another unashamed pet head (Sam) has been a highlight of my life. Shame the crowd acted like they've never been to a gig before one t*** even telling me i was standing in his place. Reserved standing at gigs is new to me. People need to get out more. We shook hands in the end; nothing was going to spoil the joy.

It was To face the truth from 1990s Behaviour that stung with the truth of my own life like it never had done before.

I agree. Standard 2 x CD compilation of everything since 'Format', and a "deluxe" 4 x CD version with 2 x bonus CDs including one version of each of the 34 songs played over the five nights. Include the different tracks from each night within the track order, and end with the encore tracks - so it plays like one long, "super-setlist" of everything.

Title for the standard compilation can be whatever they choose, and - in the style of 'Very Relentless' the deluxe version should be called '[Standard title] Obscure'.

- I liked the fact they kept the songs true to their original arrangements. I wonder to what extent they went back to the original stems vs. recreating them?

While older tracks sounded great, they used a very weird synth sound for The way it used to be Chris solo. Or maybe in person it was better?

I’ve had a great week with @petshopboys playing 5 sold-out shows @electricballroomcamden. Armed with 35 songs, each night had a different set list, some live exclusives and with wonderful special guests, Sylvia Mason-James, Johnny Marr and Mark Refoy.
Putting the show together involved being an audio-detective and a lot of digging out of old files, some of which won’t play anymore (pre Logic 7 you know what I’m talking about…) It was all worth it though. After an intense period of rehearsals, Pet Shop Boys and the amazing band @maxblunos and @clareuchima put on an unforgettable string of shows.
Massive thanks to the whole team-effort that made these shows possible.

Yeah, agreed. I also found the computer game sounds at the beginning of Young Offender borderline hilarious.

As for my experience last night? Not the best experience I've had at a PSB show (i'm very short lol) so only really caught glimpses of the guys between peoples heads (Petheads are all very tall!) but I was expecting this and was there purely for the songs and they didn't let me down.

Yeah, agreed. I also found the computer game sounds at the beginning of Young Offender borderline hilarious.

i started to watch the footage for it, but had to stop. couldn’t get past those cheesy sounds… and i like Young Offender. was hoping they would perform It Must Be Obvious, One and One Make Five, or Hey, Headmaster, but no.
