If anyone is up for a little PSB break during this Obscure era, I've been meaning to recommend the new Ladytron album, Paradises. I didn't have any of their albums past the first two, but am enjoying this new one more and more. There are a lot of sounds in it that bring PSB to mind and fellow fans might be glad they gave it a try (maybe you already have!). I think it will actually sound really good in the summertime, which I never would have expected from Ladytron.

Definitely. And one of the more PSB-adjacent sounding tracks. So many luxurious textures to get lost in on the album.

Yup! "I see red" is one of the single-ready tracks. Classic sounds. My early favorites were "I believe in you" and "Kingdom undersea", but another that's come to the forefront for me is "Solid light". There's a lot of choice tracks to choose from!RafBoy wrote:Album is very good indeed, my favorite track: "I See Red"
As I anticipated, this is a Ladytron record that sounds unexpectedly great with the summer.

I have it on vinyl for couple of months. "I See Red" was the track that made best impression on 1st listen and it stayed with me since. But it might be because it sounds more like a "vintage" Ladytron to me

Oh, yeah, it definitely deserves attention. I'm kind of the opposite; I have only the first couple, was not drawn into ones from the meantime, but am quite hooked on Paradises.oakey wrote:Thanks for the tip! I have most of their albums but somehow missed this release
I haven't cataloged the instances, but see if there aren't moments that bring PSB to mind for you. There's no mistaking the album for anyone but Ladytron, but there are periodic timbres and effects that brought PSB to my mind right away.
