As first heard on, and best suited to, Disco 3.

And as with some of the other songs on Disco 3, they weren't necessary Pet Shop Boys classics, but they were the first real sign that Pet Shop Boys were heading out of their nadir... and for that we rejoiced.

It works well on the *Disco 3* album. As a standalone track, though, I don't find it anything special. To be honest, I don't really associate it with the *Release* era.

I really like Time on my hands. A return to a Relentess vibe. Maybe a smidgen too banal, lyrically speaking, but not really needing more either. Less is more.

It's one of their great album openers as it sets the mood for Disco 3. Feels out of place in the Release FL though. I was addicted to that "ninety, party" bit back then. Simple yet effective.

I have no idea what they were thinking here - it's got hints of musical naffness and weird chord changes.

I guess that's why they never released it until they were looking for Further Listening material in the vaults.

It’s awful. Not everything is worth releasing: there was no need to put out this demo. There are some demos in the *Further Listening* sets that don't add anything of value.

It's not an attempt to write in the style of Brecht/Weill by any chance? The combination of chord change, production and tune remind me of what keeps mankind alive.
