I'm now thinking that Madonna should do a cover version of Heart with it being produced by the Pet Shop Boys.

Or better yet, not do that! It always felt kind of condescending that they wanted to offer her such a basic bop, UK #1 be damned.

To be fair I always felt that Madonna had moved on musically to a different style by the time Heart came out. Heart is more akin to Madonna in 1985/6 than 1987/8.

I think it's a happy accident it didn't work out and that the Boys were able to secure another chart topper with it.

I just want to know what it would have turned out like. Not having the Pet Shop Boys involved with at least one track on Confessions II was a missed opportunity. The alternative would be a PSB wirtten / produced track featuring Madonna.

I love Heart and even though the tune seems simple it certainly hit the spot when it became a hit! I always felt a little sad that Madge hadn't done it back in the day.

I think Stuart Price have wanted to connect PSB and Madonna again. He put the remix of PSB with Madonna and Kylie on stage. I'm sure he wanted Neil's voice to be there in some way like a fan of PSB he is.

Maybe the next album from PSB could have Madonna on it. It was a surprise to see Kyle taking part of the promtion of the album first with Graham Norton on TV and now here. In fact, there was a suggestion on that show with Graham. I suppose the duet with Carpenter has more value today.
