I don’t doubt that - exploitation, enshittification and the rise of the talentless is the apogee of our cultural devolution.
I suspect you routinely use a spell checker and whatever program to do who knows what. I assume you know good grammar and can spell and do math and dont need it, but you've already dipped your toe in the waters. you've turned over aspects of your creativity to programs.
people have recreated whole scenes of Star Wars online, and it looks as good as the real movie. what you would call people with no talent....yet they have millions of views despite being only up a few weeks. it doesn't matter. you dont have to be George Lucas anymore with a multi million dollar budget and thousands of people on a crew. that's BETTER.
and I suspect your favorite bands are on them sly using it to create music. you wont ever know. you will just enjoy it.

I suspect AI generated music is already being used in the mainstream, or in the case of some it’s being used openly. Look at Boy George’s recent pro-Israel song which he obviously didn’t realise people would notice was wholly AI generated.
I’m split on the use of AI. I think there’s a use for artists using it to plug gaps in songs when they’re struggling or using it for ideas around riffs or some basic patterns. I think it is likely that as AI apps continue to improve we’ll see it more and more insidious within the industry, which is a real pity and feels inevitable.

The difference between talent and AI is that when the power goes out, the talented can still make things.
