It's interesting that celebrities aren't allowed a humorous old moan the way we are.

You genuinely think that was them being funny? Think they spent too long hanging around with Elton.

Of course they're allowed to moan but it was their decision to share it with us, whilst slagging off staff at Tempelhof. Jeez if only the rest of us had the luxury of being able to leave, let alone threaten to leave a country we reside in because of being in a queue at an airport.

Tempelhof airport was closed in 2008. They've been at BER (airport Berlin Brandenburg) in Schönefeld.

Threatening to sell their flat? What could be more Chris Lowe? This forum needs an enema.

I hope they don't try to take the "party train".

Because of a fire at Wittenbergplatz, the U1 section between Uhlandstraße and Nollendorfplatz is out of service for a week or so, and the full service from Uhlandstraße to Warschauer Straße has been out of service since June due to dilapidated tracks...

The U1 is such a party train
(Will-o-the-wisp)
from Uhland to Warschauerstraße
(Will-o-the-wisp)
emerging from below past Nollendorfplatz (having taken a diversion via Möckernbrücke)
(Will-o-the-wisp)
for passport control that's faster
(Will-o-the-wisp)
The pale kid that hides in the attic behind his PC...

So I couldn't have murdered daddy as I've only just arrived on the 8:13 from Brandenburg and here's my restaurant car ticket to prove it!

https://www.berliner-zeitung.de/article ... g-10403237

English translation:

"Pet Shop Boys complain about BER: Are they now selling their Wilmersdorf apartment?
The Pet Shop Boys are fed up with the situation at Berlin airport – and are threatening to leave the city. But their fans aren't entirely sympathetic.

The Pet Shop Boys are usually the epitome of British gentlemen. Extremely polite, that is. But right now, they've clearly had enough.

"Passport control at Berlin Brandenburg Airport is completely inadequate," the Pet Shop Boys wrote on Threads, the microblogging service linked to Instagram.

They continued: "We won't be back anytime soon. Time to sell our apartment here? Huge queue for only two counters. No helpful staff."

The Pet Shop Boys, who commute between their home in London and Berlin, are generally considered big fans of the German capital. They've worked on many of their most recent albums there since 2010. And they own an apartment in Wilmersdorf – which they are now openly considering selling, not to say threatening to! After all, Berlin doesn't exactly have that many globally renowned pop stars of the Pet Shop Boys' (PSB) caliber.

Except perhaps for Harry Styles , who also occasionally drops by. Parts of Berlin still yearn for the David Bowie glamour of yesteryear. If the PSB were to turn their backs on Berlin as well, it would be a bitter loss for Berlin's pop scene. "Leaving the EU might not have been the smartest move?"
PSB singer Neil Tennant and keyboardist Chris Lowe aren't receiving universal praise from fans: "Only two counters and a somewhat unhelpful employee? Whatever – complain about BER," commented a Threads user named Petra.

However, she argued that the requirement for British citizens to show their passports upon entering the EU wasn't a BER blunder: "That's Brexit , doing exactly what it was supposed to do." A user named Richards on Threads echoed Petra's sentiment: "Leaving the EU might not have been the smartest move?" The Pet Shop Boys are also receiving support in the comments section of the thread: "The whole airport is a disgrace to the city," judges a user named Jon. "Only two counters open? That's not passport control," says a certain Konstantina, "it's an ordeal."

Other fans openly inquire about the sale price of the Pet Shop Boys' apartment, while still others express (schadenfreude) that this will finally free up housing for the locals. One particularly astute fan asks point-blank: "What have you done to derserve this?" – a reference to the legendary Pet Shop Boys track "What Have I Done To Deserve This," a duet with Dusty Springfield.

Indeed, what did the "boys" do to deserve such BER trouble? A question that other (part-time) residents of this city probably ask themselves occasionally as well.
